Everything you need to know about the Everdark Fissure in the Fog in Elden Ring Nightreign, and whether it’s too easy or not.

Everdark Sovereign Nightlords are meant to be the pinnacle of difficulty in Elden Ring Nightreign. These bosses are essentially designed similarly to Monster Hunter Wilds’ Tempered Monsters, and serve as the game’s primary endgame loop. The Everdark Nightlords boast a larger health pool, higher elemental (affinity) resistance, and significantly increased agility.
Furthermore, these bosses also feature new attacks and movesets. And some of these Everdark Nightlords even feature entirely new phases to their battle, complete with a whole new “gimmick.” Despite all that, some players seem to find the Everdark version of the Nightlords much easier than their regular counterparts.
This sentiment has recently been reignited by the addition of Everdark Fissure in the Fog, which some players find way less challenging than the regular Nightlord. However, is Everdark Fissure in the Fog really that easy, or have the players simply gotten better at the game? Let’s find out in this article.
Is Everdark Fissure in the Fog in Elden Ring Nightreign Too Easy?

Caligo, Miasma of Night, aka Fissure in the Fog, was never a particularly challenging boss fight. Instead, it was somewhat of a “gimmick” boss where you simply needed to know its weaknesses and attack openings. With Everdark Sovereign, FromSoftware did somewhat address the “difficulty” aspect of the Nightlord. By all means, Everdark Caligo is a significant step up in terms of difficulty compared to its regular counterpart.
Furthermore, it’s also quite a lot agile, which makes it a menace for melee Nightfarers. However, at the same time, Everdark Caligo has the same weaknesses as the regular variant, which does affect its challenging nature.
The issue with Everdark Caligo is that it’s the only Everdark Sovereign boss who has an effective elemental (affinity) weakness in phase two. Almost all previous Everdark Nightlords lose their elemental weaknesses in the second phase of the fight. For instance, Everdark Fulghor, who is weak to Lightning, isn’t affected by the element in the second phase, and cannot be staggered with it. The same goes for Everdark Adel, Everdark Gnoster, and also, Everdark Maris.
Caligo being weak to elemental damage is what makes the boss fight relatively easier. This is especially true for players who know how to exploit said weakness. However, if you don’t know the boss’s weaknesses or don’t get Fire weapons in your run leading up to Caligo, the battle becomes exponentially more challenging.
Other Factors Affect the Difficulty of Everdark Fissure in the Fog
Another major factor that makes Everdark Caligo easier than other Nightlords is the Mountaintop Shifting Earth. The buff you get from the Mountaintop basically negates the biggest threat in the battle against Caligo, Frostbite.
Furthermore, bosses in the Shifting Earth also drop the Anti-Dragon passive, which further makes it easier to defeat Caligo. That said, Everdark Caligo is still a force to be reckoned with, and without the right Relic loadout and passives, it’s a rather difficult boss to take down.
