FromSoftware’s latest offering, Elden Ring Nightreign, is coming quite soon, on May 30, 2025. With the game’s release inching ever closer, we finally know details regarding the title’s official pre-load schedule. Nightreign is arguably the most intriguing title within FromSoftware’s catalog, despite it being tied to Elden Ring. Although the game does feature the tried and tested gameplay formula of FromSoftware’s previous “Souls” games, it also differentiates itself in the way it’s structured. Instead of being a traditional souls-like, Nightreign is a co-op-focused RPG. It’s a massive departure from the kind of experiences FromSoftware is best known for, i.e., tightly-knit single-player RPGs.

Although much of the game is still under wraps, thanks to Nightreign’s PlayStation Store listing, we finally know its official pre-load date and time. Here’s everything you need to know about Elden Ring Nightreign’s pre-load, platforms, and more.

When Can You Pre-Load Elden Ring Nightreign?

Similarly to FromSoftware’s past releases on current-gen platforms, Elden Ring Nightreign is available to pre-load roughly 48 hours prior to the official launch date, i.e., on May 28, 2025. This information comes courtesy of the game’s PlayStation Store listing, which shows the estimated pre-load date. As for when you can start pre-downloading the game, it varies based on your platform of choice. On PlayStation and Xbox consoles, the game will be available to pre-load at midnight local time on May 28, 2025. However, on PC, the timing will be different based on the time zone. As of the writing of this article, FromSoftware has not revealed any details on PC pre-load timings.

However, based on past FromSoftware releases, the PC pre-load should be available at and around 7 PM PST. Once FromSoftware releases an official schedule for PC pre-load, we will update this article with relevant information.

Elden RIng Nightreing Platforms

Similarly to the base game of Elden Ring, Nightreign is a cross-generation title. This means that the game is coming to both current-gen (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) and previous-gen (PS4 and Xbox One) consoles. Additionally, the game is also coming to PC. However, it should be noted that the PC version does ship with two DRMs, GuardIT, as well as the kernel-level Anti-Cheat system – Easy Anti-Cheat.

Elden Ring Nightreign File Size

As of the writing of this article, FromSoftware has not revealed any information on the official file size of Nightreign. However, considering that it’s a smaller-scale title built using Elden Ring’s foundation, we can speculate that Nightreign will be roughly 40-50 GB. Additionally, the closed network test (CNT) version of the game on consoles was roughly 10 GB in size, despite featuring a good chunk of the map. As such, it can be speculated that Nightreign won’t require outrageous amounts of storage space, akin to some of the recent Unreal Engine 5 titles.
