Bandai Namco Entertainment has finally revealed the official release date for Elden Ring Nightreign. Developed by FromSoftware, Elden Ring Nightreign is a very unique take on the studio’s tried-and-tested souls-like formula. Instead of being a curated single-player RPG, Nightreign is a co-op-focused hack-and-slash action game. Think of it like Remnant 2 but with an Elden Ring skin.

Although the game can be played like a traditional single-player title, it’s focused primarily around co-op. Furthermore, Nightreign, despite being set within the “Elden Ring universe,” is completely divested from the base game as well as the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

As such, it’s also a good starting point for players who want to try out Elden Ring but are intimidated by its myriad of RPG systems. Surprisingly enough, the game is coming out quite soon, with pre-orders for it already live on all platforms. Here’s everything you need to know about Elden Ring Nightreign’s pre-order details, prices, and more.

Elden Ring Nightreign is scheduled to be released on May 30, 2025. Much like the base Elden Ring, Nightreign is a cross-gen title, meaning it will be available on current-gen (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) as well as previous-gen (PS4 and Xbox One) consoles. Furthermore, the game will also be available on PC, via Steam.

Although it does share the same prefix as Shadow of the Erdtree, Nightreign is a standalone title. This means you won’t need to own the base Elden Ring to install and play Nightreign. Although the game does come with a Deluxe Edition, there’s no “early access” or “advanced access” incentive for pre-ordering Nightreign.

Regardless of whichever version you purchase, you will be able to access and play the game on May 30th.

Similarly to Elden Ring and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Nightreign is offered in two different editions – Standard and Deluxe. Given its limited scope compared to the base Elden Ring, Nightreign isn’t priced at the standard Triple-A premium, i.e., $60/$70. Instead, the game comes with a price tag of $40, akin to the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

The Standard Edition (priced at $40) comes with the base game and pre-order bonus. Whereas the Deluxe Edition, which is priced at $55, comes with a few extras on top of the Standard Edition content. The Deluxe Edition also includes access to the post-launch DLCs, an artbook, and the official soundtrack.

Here’s a rundown of the two editions of Elden Ring Nightreign:

Standard Edition ($40)

  • Base game
  • Pre-order bonus (Gesture)

Deluxe Edition ($55)

  • Base game
  • Pre-order bonus (Gesture)
  • Additional DLC
  • Digital artbook and soundtrack

The pre-order bonus includes the “It’s Raining” Gesture. This Gesture can be equipped on any of the classes that you choose to play as in the game. Furthermore, you can unlock this Gesture via gameplay as well, even if you don’t pre-order the game.
