Elden Ring Nightreign might not be a traditional souls-like RPG akin to its predecessor, but it does have some shared gameplay and narrative elements. For instance, the game, despite its lack of a direct narrative, features a quest system. And unlike in Elden Ring, you can track your quest progress in Nightreign. These quests are tied to each of the Nightfarers in the game and are called Remembrances. As you complete these Remembrance quests, you will unlock more details regarding the Nightfarers and the Nightlords. However, completing the Remembrances isn’t easy. Even unlocking the Remembrance quests for the Nightfarers is a tad confusing.

Here’s a comprehensive guide on the Remembrances in Elden Ring Nightreign, including details on how to unlock them, rewards, and more.

What Are Remembrances in Elden Ring Nightreign?

Remembrances are Nightfarer-specific quests that you unlock as you defeat Great Bosses and Nightlords in Elden Ring Nightreign. These are multi-part quests that often require you to go through multiple enemy encounters and boss fights to get the item needed to progress. For instance, for Ironeye’s Remembrance quest, you first need to talk to the Priestess (maiden at the Roundtable Hold), who then tasks you to hunt a rogue Ironeye in Limveld. Once you defeat the rogue Ironeye, you’re then tasked with defeating the Darkdrift Knight to obtain a special Relic. And after doing so, you get to complete the Nightfarer’s Remembrance quest.

Some of the Remembrances are easy to complete, such as Guardian’s or the Revenant’s. However, there are also a few Nightfarer Remembrances that require you to defeat specific Nightlords, which can be a tad difficult. However, for the reward you get after completing the Remembrances, it’s totally worth going through these quests. Lastly, if you defeat the final boss with a character you have completed the Remembrance for, you will get a new ending cutscene. As such, there’s some narrative incentive for completing the Remembrance quests.

The Nightfarer Remembrances don’t unlock until after you have defeated the first Nightlord, Gladius, Beast of Night. Once you defeat Gladius, you will be able to unlock Memory Fragments for the Nightfarer you’re using. The Memory Fragments can be obtained randomly as a reward for exploring Limveld and defeating bosses. However, you get a guaranteed Memory Fragment drop for defeating a Nightlord. Once you have a Memory Fragment, simply head to the Journal in the Roundtable Hold to start the Remembrance quest. You can check the requirements as well as the progress of the Remembrance quests via the Journal as well as the Expedition table.

Completing a Remembrance quest rewards you with character-specific Relics, with quite powerful stats. Furthermore, you also get plenty of Murk for completing the quests, as well as a better understanding of the Nightfarers.

Why Are Remembrances Important in Elden Ring Nightreign

Besides revealing the lore of the Nightfarer, completing Remembrances rewards players with Nightfarer-specific Relics. Additionally, they also reward with Relic Vessels for the characters.
