Billionaire Elon Musk seemingly agreed with an X user who wants Twitch to fire staff over Ethan Klein’s recent ban.

Elon Musk replied to a tweet asking Twitch to ban the staff responsible for the H3 Podcast host and YouTuber Ethan Klein’s recent ban. Musk responded with a “100” emoji, seemingly agreeing with the X user. The streaming platform is facing criticism online due to Klein’s 30-day ban, which it has now reverted.
Twitch banned Klein for streaming content that was “encouraging or glorifying extreme violence.” The content in question was Klein’s “content nuke” video on political commentator and Twitch streamer Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker. The video criticizes Hasan and calls him out for alleged antisemitism, support for terrorism, misogyny, and hate speech.
Klein received a 30-day ban on March 4, 2025, and his unban appeal was rejected. The YouTuber seemed upset at Twitch and made a video on the situation, where he criticized the platform and called out the alleged favoritism towards HasanAbi. In a surprise move, Twitch unbanned Klein’s channel without any communication. Internet users are now questioning Twitch’s inconsistent moderation policies.
Elon Musk Reacts to Tweet About Recent Twitch Bans
X user NikoWrex posted a tweet calling out Twitch’s moderation practices and the recent Ethan Klein ban:
“Ethan Klein gets a 30 day ban on Twitch for playing the Hasan content nuke. Seems like a lot of people need to be fired at Twitch.”

Elon Musk responded to the tweet with an emoji:
“100”
Internet users called out Twitch and compared Ethan Klein and HasanAbi’s recent bans. Twitch issued a 24-hour ban to HasanAbi after he made controversial comments about United States Senator Rick Scott. Meanwhile, Ethan Klein received a 30-day ban for streaming content featuring clips from Hasan’s Twitch channel.
Ethan Klein Calls Out Twitch’s Alleged Bias
After Twitch banned Ethan Klein, he publicly shared the communication he received from Twitch with his audience. He read out the ban statement, saying:
“Reason: Encouraging or Glorifying Extreme Violence. Inciting others to commit or participate in violent acts that would cause death or extreme physical harm to a group of people, or major destruction to property or public infrastructure. Glorifying a tragedy, a violent event, or the parties responsible for it.”
The YouTuber claimed the ban made no sense because his content nuke video features clips from Hasan’s channel:
“Examples of violative conduct include, but are not limited to: Inciting others to burn down a police station. Encouraging others to physically assault people at a protest, explicitly stating that a group of people should be killed. Where the violation occurred: On stream or VOD. Content title: Content Nuke Rerun.”
Klein accused Twitch of hypocrisy for continuing to platform HasanAbi despite his violations while punishing other creators harshly. Twitch has not responded to the ongoing controversy surrounding the recent ban.
