Roblox has several games that consistently achieve huge player base records. Grow a Garden is one of those and is among the most played games on the internet. The game receives new content and updates every week. However, this update cycle will go through some changes, as announced by Jandel. For the uninitiated, Janzen “Jandel” Madsen is the creator behind Grow a Garden.

The developer stated in his announcement that the game will be focusing more on the depth of content than quantity. This article will go through the upcoming changes as stated by Jandel.

Jandel Explains Upcoming Changes in Grow a Garden

In his tweet on X, Jandel wrote:

“Grow a Garden is entering the Method Era. Weekly events have been fun, but keeping them fresh every week was becoming difficult. We’re shifting focus to adding more depth into farms moving forward. We will still continue to do the events in the middle, but they won’t be the heavy focus of content each week. More methods, more easter eggs and more mechanics will be coming.”

The game has been receiving several updates and events every week. The developer stated that it is becoming difficult to release fresh content every week. Furthermore, the developers will be shifting their focus to adding more depth into the game’s mechanics. This means that events will no longer have a heavy focus on content. The developer further elaborated by stating that the game will have more methods and mechanics.

In a separate Discord message, the developer provided examples for methods, which included fertilizers, egg incubators, and a garden encyclopedia. Jandel also stated that he is planning to put the cooking feature permanently into the game. He mentioned that methods and features will be added gradually, much like the pet and cosmetic updates.

As mentioned by Jandel, the developers will be adding incubators that speed up egg hatching, fertilizers that can apply variations like rainbow or gold to fruits, and a garden encyclopedia. However, these updates will be rolled out gradually over a period of weeks. The cooking feature might become permanent in the game, with additional mechanics.

Jandel stated that there will be NPCs that players can feed food to in order to unlock rewards. The garden encyclopedia will feature information about fruits, including the heaviest grown fruit. Janzen also mentioned that there will be daily and weekly challenges for rewards. These challenges are not to be confused with quests, as players will be required to compete in tasks such as growing the biggest and best fruit within 24 hours.
