The Hideout in Escape From Duckov is essentially your main base of operations, where you return after runs in the wild. In the Hideout, you can talk to various NPCs or craft different items without having to go out. At the start of the game, your Hideout will be very empty. However, it gradually fills up as you complete various missions, turning it into a functional base.

Main Hideout Functions in Escape From Duckov
The Hideout has a total of five primary functions that you can make use of early in the game. You can make use of these to obtain better loot or increase your chances of securing loot in the wild. Here are all of them:
- Jeff: He is the most important NPC who appears at the start of the game in your Hideout. You can talk to him to obtain various missions, which not only provide useful rewards but also steer you on how to progress through the game.
- Warehouse: You can store various items in your Warehouse after completing runs. Your Warehouse features various compartments that can be used to separate different types of items.
- Black Market: This is where you buy or sell items for in-game currency. The prices in the Black Market constantly fluctuate, so hold onto your pricey stuff to sell at the correct time. You can also occasionally find Blueprints for purchase in here, which can be exceptionally useful to make essential items like the Crowbar or Shovel.
- Skill Enhancement: There is a unique machine in the top left corner of your Hideout that you can use to upgrade yourself. Moreover, it features a complete Skill Tree with upgrades requiring different items and currency.
- Build: You can use the workbench near the exit to build different crafting stations. However, each provides different items that can be upgraded by completing quests.

How To Unlock New NPCs in Hideout?
You can unlock new NPCs in your Hideout by completing quests for them. When you leave your Hideout to go outside, you can find many friendly NPCs in unique locations. Talk to them and keep completing their quests to have them move to your Hideout permanently eventually. This is a necessary step in reaching the conclusion of the game, which requires you to build a ship and escape the planet.
