Escape From Duckov offers many activities you can do when out in the wild, including fishing. However, to unlock fishing, you first need to invite the Fisherman NPC to your hideout, who also acts as your personal chef. Unfortunately, the game does not explain how to do this, leaving it up to the player to explore and figure it out.

To help you out, here’s how you can unlock the Fisherman NPC in Escape From Duckov

To unlock the Fisherman NPC, you first have to invite Mud, the gym-trainer, to your hideout. You can find him in the middle of Ground Zero, cooped up in his house. Moreover, you also have to complete a few fetch quests to make him move in permanently. Once he moves in, you have to keep completing quests for him till he gives you the “Professional Chef” mission.

To complete the mission, all you have to do is give him 1,500 cash, which unlocks the Kitchen blueprint. You have to collect the following items to build it using the workbench by the hideout entrance:

  • 2x Wooden Plank
  • 1x Pan
  • 1x Cup
  • 1x Bleach

After you make the Kitchen, you can interact with the Fisherman NPC standing near it to buy the blueprint for bait and increase your fishing skills. He also gives you multiple fishing-related quests, which show you the location of different fishing spots in the game.

Is Fishing Worth It in Escape From Duckov?

Currently, fishing is only worthwhile when you reach late-game content. In addition, the Fisherman NPC offers an upgrade late in his skill tree that lets you turn certain fish into injections. However, you find plenty of injections when looting in the wild, so fishing offers no early to mid-game benefits.
