Ethan Klein allegedly did the Nazi salute during a Saint Patrick’s Day broadcast after reaching 10,000 new YouTube members.

YouTuber and H3 Podcast host Ethan Klein hosted a special Saint Patrick’s Day-themed broadcast on March 17, 2025. At one point during the nine-hour broadcast, the YouTuber seemingly imitated billionaire Elon Musk’s controversial hand gesture at the United States Presidential inauguration event on January 20, 2025.
When Elon Musk attended Donald Trump’s inauguration, he said, “My heart goes out to you,” and made a hand gesture that resembled a Nazi salute. Klein repeated the same words and gestures after reaching 10,000 new members on his YouTube channel.
The Nazi salute is a controversial hand gesture used by the German Nazi Party in the 1940s during its oppression of Jewish people. Multiple countries have banned the salute, and it is punishable by prison time in some cases. Ethan Klein has Jewish origins, and his seemingly antisemitic hand gesture has sparked online debates.
Why Did Ethan Klein Do the Controversial Hand Gesture?
Ethan Klein has deleted the VOD (video on demand) of his recent livestream after clips of him doing the salute went viral. At 5:58:00 of his Saint Patrick’s Day broadcast, Klein said:
“Thank you guys so much for your support, I’ve had so much fun here… and also, my heart goes out to you.”

He made the statement after nearing 10,000 new members during the broadcast. The podcast host drank on stream and was slurring his words. Many of his fans defended his actions, claiming that he was drunk and was not responsible for his actions. Content creators Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker and Jean “Denims” have called out Klein’s actions.
While Klein deleted the VOD, internet users already clipped the controversial moment, which has gone viral. The YouTuber has not gone live since his last livestream and is yet to address the controversy.
Klein Previously Defended the Hand Gesture on His Podcast
Twitch streamer Denims recently reacted to a viral clip of Ethan Klein performing the Nazi salute during a February 23, 2025, broadcast. He did eight Nazi salutes and then clarified:
“I’m not a Nazi. I’m doing a parody. I’m a Jewish man. I’m an Israeli citizen. I’m going to Israel in June.”
After watching Klein do the salutes during his livestream, Denims commented:
“I gotta say that doing the Nazi salute while calling yourself an Israeli citizen is a crazy strategy. That’s okay. He’s literally Jewish. That’s okay. The brainrot has spread really deeply when Ethan Klein says he wants to go to Israel and wants to provide a look that Israel isn’t an apartheid state.”
She criticized Klein’s actions and called him hypocritical. She pulled up old clips from Klein’s channel where he allegedly made antisemitic comments despite being a Jewish man himself. The two content creators began feuding with each other following the incident and have criticized each other’s political commentary.
