The r/youtubedrama subreddit banned all posts around Ethan Klein, prompting the YouTuber to call out the moderators.
H3 Podcast host and YouTuber Ethan Klein called out the r/youtubedrama subreddit’s moderators for banning all content around him. The subreddits’ moderators updated their rules and requested their audience to discuss any Klein-related drama elsewhere.
Klein shared an image from the subreddit and called the moderators “f*cking losers.” The YouTuber allegedly filed a civil litigation against r/youtubedrama and other subreddits. Klein claimed that subreddits like r/youtubedrama, r/h3snark, and r/FauxMoi disrupt his business, and he intends to identify the moderators using their IP addresses and file civil litigation lawsuits.
Ethan Klein calls Reddit a “neo-N*zi” forum and posted multiple videos about alleged “brigading” against him. Brigading refers to groups of internet users interacting with posts or people online to influence opinions. Meanwhile, multiple subreddits accused the YouTuber of the same thing and claimed Ethan uses his audience to influence public opinion.
YouTubedrama Subreddit Addresses Ethan Klein’s Controversy
A moderator from the r/youtubedrama subreddit issued a statement addressing all content around Ethan Klein. The moderator claimed that the mod team is not afraid of “baseless legal threats” and does not want to ban criticism. However, the team will ban all posts around H3H3 Productions and Ethan Klein. The moderator said:
“Going forward, we will not allow new posts related to Ethan Klein and his podcast. All existing posts will be locked for new comments. We will only allow posts if there’s a major new development. This will be left to the discretion of my most excellent mods.”
The mod advised the r/youtubedrama community to let go of the topic. They added:
“Our users who wish to further discuss this drama can take it to a subreddit more closely related to the topic. However, we would advise you to let it go. In the words of a sentient dessert, I am begging you to stop caring. By participating in this fabricated drama, no matter how right you believe you are, you are only making one person richer. This is not real. You’re being trolled by a man pushing 40 who scrolls Instagram for a living. Let it go.”
Other subreddits Klein called out are still allowing posts about the YouTuber. Multiple posts have surfaced on r/h3snark and r/FauxMoi questioning if they, too, will censor content around the YouTuber.
Why Did Klein Go After Multiple Subreddits?
On February 17, 2025, Ethan Klein made an Instagram post calling out multiple subreddits for allegedly attacking him. He said:
“You have spent all of your free time since Oct 7 2023 in an effort to torture me, my wife, my family, my employees, my friends. You have defamed me, knowingly falsified images, broken laws, and interfered in my business.”
Ethan hinted at a civil litigation lawsuit and claimed he was in contact with people to track down the moderators’ identities. He added:
“Nobody should ever have to endure this level of malicious harassment, and yet you have inflicted it on me and people I love. You guys know me quite well, being long time paying members. I hope that what proceeds won’t jeopardize your membership as we look forward to and enjoy your continued patronage.”
Klein alleged that some of the moderators were “Trish Paytas superfans” working together to defame him. Paytas is a YouTuber who previously worked with Klein. The two content creators split due to disagreements and have been feuding ever since.
