You can transfer the occupation of an area in Europa Universalis 5 (EU5). However, this can only be done under specific conditions.
If you want to transfer the occupation of a region owned by you, or a subject in Europa Universalis 5 (EU5), you can do so. However, you cannot transfer occupation to just anyone in the game. Rarely, it can also happen on its own. Still, most of the time you will have to run this process manually.
Moreover, there are certain prerequisites you must meet before this can be done. The actual process is fairly easy, and it will be detailed below in further depth.
How To Transfer Occupation in Europa Universalis 5 (EU5)
Transferring occupation means you cede control over an area to one of your allies or vassals. This is an extremely useful feature that can be handy in lots of situations. However, you must have a vassal or ally willing to receive occupation of the province. Otherwise, you will not get this option.
Here is the process to follow to transfer the occupation of an area:
- Click on any province you want to transfer. On the left side, you will notice all the details regarding the area open up in a Location menu.
- Make sure that it opens the ‘Province tab’ and not the ‘Nation tab’.
- In the upper half of the menu, a red label will be present, which mentions ‘Occupied by XYZ.’
- To the left of this label will be a red icon. Click this button to transfer occupation.
Alternative Method To Transfer Occupation in EU5
This method is untested; however, some users have reported that it works. Follow the above process until you have the Location menu open.
- Right above the ‘Occupied by XYZ’ label, you will notice another button that says the name of the province and shows its status as occupied.
- If you right-click in this area, you should also be able to transfer occupation.
If this method does not work, just stick to the tried and tested original method listed above.
