Warzone is set to receive a plethora of new content and gameplay updates after its integration with Black Ops 7 later this year. Recently, Activision unveiled its plans for its free-to-play battle royale title at COD NEXT 2025. During the event, key developers from several Call of Duty studios joined the stage and shared a host of intel about how Warzone will be changing in the coming days.

Some of the highlights include a brand-new Resurgence map, new pieces of Equipment, movement changes, and more. So, without any further ado, let’s take a closer look at everything new in store for Call of Duty’s battle royale.

All New Content Coming to Warzone After Its Integration With Black Ops 7

Warzone is getting a massive overhaul after the Black Ops 7 integration. However, before we dive into the changes, let’s explore the brand-new content that’s set to join the battle royale title:

New Resurgence Map

Call of Duty is adding a brand-new Resurgence map called Haven’s Hollow in Black Ops 7 Season 1. It’s built in and around the Black Ops 6 Zombies map, Liberty Falls. Needless to say, it sticks to a similar art design. The map is vibrant and filled with varied terrain. However, being a Resurgence map, it is small. Although we do not have the exact measurements at the moment, it has been confirmed that the map is smaller than Fortune’s Keep but larger than Rebirth Island.

Two New POIs on Verdansk

Verdansk hasn’t been forgotten, and after the game’s integration with BO7, the fan-favorite map will receive two new POIs or Points of Interest. They are:

  • Signal Station
  • Factory

Fans who have experienced the battle royale game previously should already be familiar with Verdansk ’84’s Factory. The same landmark is returning, but with updated visuals. As for Signal Station, this is a new POI set right next to the Military Base. However, this POI is special.

Upon completion of a specific task on it, you will earn a heatmap showing the nearby players. This heatmap will not directly show you the location of your foes. Instead, it will mark the areas near you with different colors (red, yellow, and green). If plenty of enemies are clustered in an area, your Tac Map will show that location as a Red Zone, alerting you of danger.

All New Equipment in Warzone After the Black Ops 7 Integration

Warzone will receive several new pieces of equipment after the Black Ops 7 integration. Here are all the Equipment that have been confirmed:

  • Needle Drone (Lethal): It is a mini-drone equipped with a lethal grenade. Simply aim at your enemies and let it fly at them. It’ll explode upon contact with an enemy Operator.
  • Pinpoint Grenade (Tactical): When used, it fires multiple tracking darts at enemies who step inside its radius. Upon contact, these enemies are revealed, even through walls. Your enemies must manually remove these darts to get rid of the grenade’s effects.
  • Psych Grenade (Tactical): This grenade forms a gas cloud. If an enemy steps into it, this gas messes with their senses, causing them to hallucinate and see phantoms
  • Phantom Signal (Tactical): The Phantom Signal affects enemies in your vicinity. If they are affected by it, they’ll emit sounds alerting you of their position in the game. It is exclusive to Warzone.
  • Echo Unit (Field Upgrade): This Field Upgrade spawns a digital replica of your Operator. It can be used to trick enemies into shooting at this fake target, thus revealing their location on the map.

All New Mastery Camos

After the game’s integration, it will receive four new Mastery Camos, exclusive to the Black Ops 7 weapons. They are as follows:

  • Golden Damascus
  • Starglass
  • Absolute Zero
  • Apocalypse

These are the four new Mastery Camos set to join the game later this year. However, do note that at the time of writing, Call of Duty has yet to reveal how you can unlock them in-game.

All Gameplay Updates in Warzone After Black Ops 7 Integration

With all the new pieces of content discussed, let’s explore all the gameplay updates and changes coming to Warzone after the Black Ops 7 integration:

Movement Changes and Perk Updates

At COD NEXT 2025, the developers confirmed that Black Ops 7 and Warzone won’t share the same set of movement changes. One of the major highlights for movement changes pertains to the Tactical Sprint. After the game’s integration, Tac Sprint will be removed. However, if players still want the ability to run really quickly, they can opt for the Sprinter Perk.

Speaking of Perks, moving forward, expect the entire Perk system to receive a massive overhaul. Raven Software has confirmed that they are tweaking all in-game Perks to give players more, better, and competitive choices. All these updates and changes will be effective in Warzone with the Black Ops 7 Season 1 update.

Loadout and Equipment Updates

Starting Season 1 of Black Ops 7, Warzone will see a massive overhaul of the Loadout system. Here’s what is changing in the battle royale title later this year:

  • All Wildcards will be removed.
  • Overkill will always be enabled
  • Only five attachments per gun.

According to the developers, Overkill is the most used Wildcard as of now. Hence, this decision was taken to streamline and simplify the loadout system in the game. But that’s not all. After the BO7 integration, some Equipment, such as the Stim and Smoke Grenades, will provide players with more benefits.

Here’s what you should know about them:

  • Smoke Grenades will now extinguish the flames of a Molotov.
  • Upon use, Stims will remove effects of a Stun or Flash Grenade instantly.

But we aren’t done yet. All the aforementioned details will be in effect once Warzone integrates with Black Ops 7 in Season 1. There’s more in store for the BR title down the line. At the COD NEXT 2025 event, several announcements were made for all the new content and changes we can expect coming to the game in 2026. Check out the section below to learn more!

What To Expect From Warzone in 2026?

The upcoming year will be massive for Warzone. The following are some of the main highlights that were shared at COD NEXT 2025:

  • Original Call of Duty Battle Royale map, Blackout, returns as an “experience” on Avalon in Spring of 2026.
  • Ranked Play returns to Warzone in Black Ops 6 Season 2, which is expected to go live early 2026.
  • Rebirth Island is set to receive a refresh, bringing brand-new visuals and possibly an improved layout for gameplay.

That covers just about everything that’s in store for Warzone after its integration with Black Ops 7. It is worth noting here that although many of the changes and new content have been confirmed, they are subject to change. The developers clarified that they’re taking into consideration the feedback shared at COD NEXT 2025, and will be implementing or reversing them as they deem fit.
