When Does Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Come Out?
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is set for release later this month on February 20, 2025. With the release of the game being so close, it’s easy to see why fans are so excited.
The newest Yakuza spin-off will be made available on all platforms simultaneously. It will be available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
Who Are the Developers for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii?
Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has been developed by Ryu ga Gotoku Studio, a video game developer under Sega. Ryu ga Gotoku studio is known for their work on the Like a Dragon series, localized as the Yakuza series.
The Yakuza series consists of 9 games in the mainline series. Yakuza 0, the prequel to the first game, chronologically is the earliest in the series. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the latest game in the main series and the ninth overall. Additionally, the first two games in the series were given remakes by the names of Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2.
The Like a Dragon series has numerous spin-offs, and one such spin-off is the Gaiden series, starting with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, a spin-off to Like a Dragon: Yakuza – the prequel to Infinite Wealth. Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is the second game in the Gaiden series and is a spin-off of Infinite Wealth.
What Do We Know About the Story?
This game follows the story of the recurring fan-favorite side character, Goro Majima. It takes place six months after the events of Infinite Wealth and follows an amnesiac Majima as he hunts for treasure and sails the seas, all while engaging in battles with pirate crews intent on sending him to Davy Jones’ Locker.
What Is the Setting of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii?
Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii features both locations from the previous game as well as completely new areas. Rich Island is one of the new areas that has never been seen before. A remote island with a small population, Rich Island is where the story will begin.
Previous locations include Hawaii and Nele Island, both of which were featured in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Another new setting is the outlaw paradise, Madlantis, home to scores of seafaring scoundrels.
