Final Fantasy 14 is once again coming to Monster Hunter, with the recently announced Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14 collaboration. The collaboration is coming to the game with Title Update 3 (TU3) and is jam-packed with new content. Although Capcom is keeping some surprises reserved for when the update goes live, there are still plenty of details available on the upcoming collaboration.

Firstly, it’s the second time Final Fantasy 14 is coming to Monster Hunter, with the game’s previous collaboration being with Monster Hunter World. And much like in Monster Hunter World, the FF14 collab comes with a new monster for players to test their skills against. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14 collaboration.

When Is the Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14 Collaboration Releasing?

Capcom has yet to put a concrete date on the collaboration. However, the studio has confirmed that it’s going to be a part of TU3. And according to Capcom’s own roadmap for Monster Hunter Wilds’ post-launch, TU3 is scheduled to go live in late September 2025. Furthermore, apart from the new Season of Accord and Arch-tempered Monster, MHWxFF14 collab is the only confirmed content for TU3.

As for the collaboration itself, it’s going to feature plenty of themed content and rewards. That being said, it’s still unclear whether all the planned content for the collaboration will be available alongside the TU3 or not. Capcom often releases content for the title updates in a staggered format.

That may also be the case with the Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14 collaboration event. However, the event’s title monster, Omega Planetes, will be available right when the update goes live. Speaking of the title monster, here is a list of all the confirmed content planned for the MHWxFF14 collab:

New Monster

Omega Planetes (Image via Capcom)

The biggest highlight of the collaboration event is the new monster, Omega Planetes. It’s essentially a raid boss from Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn. Omega is a recurring boss in the Final Fantasy series. A variant of the boss even appeared in the series’ most recent mainline entry, Final Fantasy 16, as Eikonoklastic Defense System Omega-1. As the boss’s name might suggest, Omega is considered one of the toughest challenges in any Final Fantasy game. Much like Behemoth, Omega is one of the few “superboss” enemies that serve as an endgame challenge. Capcom has not revealed any key details regarding Omega Planetes’ appearance in MHW.

However, if Monster Hunter World’s FF14 collab is anything to go by, Omega is going to be one of the toughest bosses in the game. In Monster Hunter World, the FF14 collab added Behemoth. And much like in a Final Fantasy game, Behemoth was one of the toughest monsters in Monster Hunter World. Omega might see a similar fate, serving as MHW’s very first “raid” boss, with incredibly high difficulty.

Chocobo Mount (Seikret Skin)

In addition to Omega Planetes, the FF14 collaboration will also add new Chocobo skins for the Seikret. Details on how players can unlock these new skins are still under wraps. However, more likely than not, the skins will be a reward for participating in the collaboration event. Or, it can also be part of the new Season of Accord, details on which will be released close to TU3’s launch.

And More

Lastly, Capcom has confirmed that more surprises will be in store for players with the FF14 collaboration. Furthermore, a similar event will go live in Final Fantasy 14 as well, albeit in October 2025. In FF14, the MHW event will include new Seikret mounts, cosmetics, and a new raid boss, Guardian Arkveld.
