The last quest in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Chapter 5 is ‘Delve Deeper Into the Depths.’ It picks up following Chapter 5 quest 17, ‘Restore Clefton,’ after Kikyo joins the island and Aeshan reveals his true intentions. This guide will cover the final quest of Chapter 5, and the first two quests of Chapter 6, all of which take place within the Depths.
Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time – Dive Deeper Into the Depths
Past the speaking statues, you’ll enter a cavern with platinum deposits and boxes. Mine the platinum deposits if you have a Miner Life in your party, and break the boxes. In the next room, there will be a few level 42 fish that you can catch with an Angler Life, and proceed straight ahead.
Make your way past the next cavern, picking mushrooms and Vitalweed as you go. The path ahead will be blocked by rubble, requiring you to have at least six Buddies unlocked to proceed further. The room will also have four Applejack apes and a slumbering Apegore you can defeat for loot. Once you clean up the rubble, run straight ahead while looting robot parts and scattered items. Descend the stairs to delve deeper. Skirt left around the enormous pit, open the chest, and proceed through the doorway on the opposite side.

A machine with purple runes lies ahead; run past it and interact with the glowing gem on the pedestal. During the following cutscene, Trip picks up the gem before Edward can warn him about the boobytrap. This leads to the Guardian Hagram awakening and challenging you. With a shield protecting it, you can’t harm the guardian, and have to flee.
Head to the Hidden Room – B1
Back in the pit chamber, head through the doorway on the right and ascend to level B1. Go through the doorway on the left and head straight to find the hidden room. As Edward places the glowing gem on the altar and activates the power, he makes an unsettling discovery about the Cog. However, before you can learn more, you must acquire a weapon strong enough to destroy Guardian Hagram. This is where you have to exit the Depths and travel to the past to find Rem.
