This material will be found somewhere in the midst of Lulab Forest, which is in the land of Faraway Island.

Lulab Forest in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
To get to Lulab Forest, go to your map screen. From the main page, select Past, and to the right of the main island, you will see the Faraway Island. Click on it to get an in-depth look at the map. To the west, you will see a fast travel point to the ‘Valley of Spirits’. Once you reach there, enter the grassy entrance right beside you.
After entering the area, take the first left, right from where you entered. You can decide whether you would like to fight or flee. Once you reach the first crossroad around the cherry tree area, take the immediate right.
Eternian Log From Eternian Tree
At the end of the path, you will find the Eternian tree in the middle of the area. You will find a few ‘Razorbeak’ enemies. Defeating them first will make your job of acquiring the log easier.
Once you defeat the enemies, approach the Eternian Tree. Assign your buddies to aid you in breaking the tree quicker. It is fairly easy to break the tree. As soon as you chop the tree down, you will have obtained the Eternian Log.
