In Fantasy Life i, crafting can only be done by designated Crafting Lives. This is because each recipe requires a specific Crafting Life. Therefore, if you wish to craft some recipes you have, then you will need to switch into the required Crafting Life.

There are six crafting lives in the entire game. These are:

  • Alchemist
  • Cook
  • Tailor
  • Carpenter
  • Blacksmith
  • Artist

To craft items, you will need to interact with a Workbench. Workbenches are usually found near Life Masters. Note that you can use any Workbench to craft any recipe you have. You do not need to use a particular workbench to craft an item.

Once you interact with the Workbench, you can begin crafting. As you would expect, to craft an item, you require both the recipe and the materials for the item. When you open the workbench, all of your recipes are listed categorically.

Recipes can be found in various ways, usually by completing quests. Some can only be unlocked by finding hidden Leafe. Meanwhile, materials can be found in the wild, where you can gather them with the appropriate Life. You can also buy some of the materials you need at various shops.

If you have the recipe you need but don’t have the required materials, then you can open the Material Info screen to learn where you can get the materials and how many you need.

You can also mark items you craft with a special Signature. These do not have any additional effects, but can help distinguish your crafted items from others of the same kind.

When crafting, you have to perform a sequence of actions. As you perform these prompts, the completion bar will go up. You will have a set number of turns to fill up the bar, and the faster you fill it up, the better the item will be. If the bar is not filled in time, the crafting will fail and you will lose the materials used.

There are four types of actions you have to execute during the minigame. They are:

  • Tap
  • Mash
  • Hold
  • Spin

Each item has a Recommended Crafting Skill that you should have before crafting it. Having a lower crafting skill than what is recommended will make it more difficult to fill up the bar. That was the complete guide for crafting in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.
