The best Elarion build in Fellowship takes advantage of all of the cool abilities that this range-based DPS hero has in his kitty. He mixes bursts with precision shots to rain down heavy damage on enemies from a distance. The entire build relies on him building his Focus at first, before fueling his most powerful abilities with that accumulated resource. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the best build for this character, and how you should play him.

Best Elarion Build in Fellowship: Overview

Elarion is a ranged DPS that relies greatly on his agility. This makes the hero a brilliant choice when you can master mobility for sustained damage. Positioning him properly is key to what the character can do in battle. He has a builder ability that will enable him to acquire Focus. Focus is the main resource that Elarion will need when you’re trying to use the more devastating skills in his kitty. It goes without saying that efficient management of his cooldowns will also determine just how well he performs on the field of battle.

Core Mechanics

The builder-spender mechanic is at play constantly when using Elarion. Focused Shot is a core attack that generates Focus, while dealing damage to enemies. Use the built up Focus to trigger Lunarlight Marks and cast additional abilities. Repeat this cycle as efficiently as possible to dominate the battlefield. Besides his potential as a DPS, he also has excellent mobility, with abilities such as Roll allowing him to quickly cover quite a bit of distance. Roll doesn’t even cancel his casting, making it a highly useful tool.

Key Abilities

Celestial Shot is the core ability that you’ll use the most. It fires a magical arrow at an enemy, dealing magic damage to that foe. Focused Shot is perhaps the most important ability for the build, since it not only deals physical damage but also grants a chance that your next Celestial Shot will grant three stacks of Lunarlight Mark to the target. This is also the sole ability that generates Focus for the hero, giving you 20 Focus every time you cast it.

Besides that, his Disrupt ability can be quite useful too, if you manage to cast it at the perfect time. This one prevents the target enemy from casting their own ability for a period of 4 seconds. However, you need to use the Disrupt ability right when the target is going in for a cast of their own. Otherwise, the ability doesn’t do anything.

Important Abilities For Single Targets

Elarion’s rotation is similar in both single target and AoE scenarios, but the priority of abilities will change depending on the build. Here’s how we suggest you proceed when attacking a single target, such as elite enemies or bosses:

  • Start with Focused Shot to gain some Focus and the Celestial Impetus. With the Celestial Impetus active, your next Celestial Shot will apply three stacks of Lunarlight Mark on the target.
  • Then, unleash either Highwind Arrow or Heartseeker Barrage for maximum damage. The former ability causes Elarion to fire an arrow at the target dealing physical damage. This arrow also has the chance to ricochet and hit two other nearby enemies, causing them physical damage too. On the other hand, with Heartseeker Barrage, Elarion fires a volley of arrows at his target. They will deal physical damage to the enemy every 0.2 seconds for 2 seconds.
  • If you’re facing off against a major enemy, you can also cast Event Horizon. This is where the Focus reduction and cooldown acceleration of this specific ability shines. However, reserve its usage for only the toughest of fights.

Important AoE Abilities

To play the best Elarion build in Fellowship, you’ll have to master AoE damage as well. Here’s how you should proceed in these scenarios:

  • Once again, use Focused Shot as your opener to gain Celestial Impetus and 20 Focus. Keep coming back to this ability whenever you’re running low on Focus since that’s the primary resource.
  • However, instead of Highwind Arrow or Heartseeker Barrage, we recommend going with either Empowered Multishot or Starfall Volley to maximize AoE cleave and apply stacks of Lunarlight Mark. Starfall Volley is an ability where Elarion fires a barrage of arrows at the target area, which lasts for 8 seconds and causes damage to enemies within the radius every second. With Skystrider’s Supremacy, you can convert your Multishot into Empowered Multishot. This powerful ability causes Elarion to fire three arrows regardless of the number of targets in range. Each arrow deals magic damage, and the ability cast consumes 50% less Focus when compared to standard Multishot.

Key Stats

The most important stat for this Elarion build is Haste. High Haste can increase the attack and cast speed, improve the cooldown recovery rate for some abilities, generate more Focus, and grant additional hits for Starfall Volley and Heartseeker Barrage. Apart from Haste, you can also focus on building the Expertise stat for the ranged DPS character. Expertise simply boosts the damage that enemies receive from all effects that Elarion triggers.

Playstyle Tips

Keep the following Elarion tips in mind to dominate the field of battle:

  • Lunarlight Mark should have 100% uptime to ensure passive damage. So, whenever you see the effect nearing its end, refresh it once more.
  • While you’ll have to use Focused Shot to build Focus constantly, avoid overcapping Focus. You can do this by using abilities that rely on Focus often. Alternatively, only cast Focused Shot when your accumulated Focus has been drained significantly.
  • Roll whenever you are under threat. This mobility technique doesn’t interfere with your casting, making it a great repositioning tool to use without any negative repercussions.
