Meiko is doubtless a strong Tank in Fellowship, but she excels in longer fights where her buffs get the time to impact battlefield events. She lacks the burst damage that you can expect from the other Tank characters. Instead, her build relies more on managing cooldowns to self-sustain beneficial buffs and healing. With several leaps and dashes, Meiko also excels at maintaining excellent mobility. For instance, Shatter Earth is a leap attack that allows Meiko to jump and land in the middle of mobs to deal damage. On the other hand, the Gust ability lets her move quickly across a short distance, which can be helpful for repositioning the hero. Her finishing maneuvers depend on the preceding combos, and they can be categorized into three types, namely, Palm, Fist, and Kick.

Core Mechanics

Like any Tank, Meiko too has access to a wide range of defensive abilities. However, the most important are the Spirited Strike and Spirited Vortex combo finishers. You should try to maintain 100% uptime for both of these defensive buffs. They also help maintain threat, making them great for your rotations. Constant activation would help enhance your survivability.

Once you have the buffs active, you have to shift your focus on cycling through the different finishers. The finisher combo you use depends on the size of the enemy mob you’re facing. Rising Storm followed by Lashing Stormkick are great when you need AoE damage. Against one or two enemies, we suggest unleashing the Rising Earth and Earthfist Barrage combo. Regardless of the finisher you use, both of these offer passive healing to Meiko, which turns her into a more formidable Tank.

Key Abilities

Keep Stone Shield up for maximum damage reduction and armor

The Stone Shield ability is crucial for the best Meiko build in Fellowship. The ability has no cooldown, which further illustrates why you need to have it up at all times. When you cast it, three protective stones will appear around Meiko. These greatly improve the character’s armor and builds overall damage reduction. So, a large part of Meiko’s mitigation depends on having this ability active at all times. Serenity is another ability that aids with her self-healing. However, this one becomes more effective the longer you hold it. When you have 50 stacks of it, Serenity will restore 75% of health for Meiko. Because of the long ramp nature of the ability, make sure you reserve this one for boss encounters or larger pulls.

Important Abilities Against Single Targets

If you are up against a single tougher enemy, the following are some abilities that you should use to control the fight:

  • Start with Shatter Earth to begin the encounter and deal some damage.
  • Next, establish Palm-Kick and Palm-Fist combos to receive defensive layers from both.
  • Follow this up by stacking Earthfist Barrage to deal significant amounts of damage. It also helps heal Meiko by 200% of the amount of damage the attack deals.
  • At the same time, establish stacks of Rising Earth through Fist-Palm combos. By doing so you also guarantee a 100% increase in your next two Earthfist Barrage attacks.
  • While following these steps, also maintain Stone Shield for enhanced armor and damage reduction. Use Gust to reposition Meiko as and when necessary.

Important AoE Abilities

If Meiko needs to deal with larger mobs, you can follow the method below:

  • Yet again kick things off with Shatter Earth to leap into battle.
  • Once more, establish both defensive buffs by completing the Palm-Kick and Palm-Fist combos.
  • Next, use the Kick-Fist combo to setup the AoE finisher. This attack also provides group healing, ensuring better survivability for the whole team.
  • Use the Vortex field from the Palm-Fist combos to continue with the passive damage.
  • Taunt will help you to catch the attention of stragglers.
  • Gust is also useful here if you need to reposition quickly in the heat of battle.

Key Stats

Even though item levels are of the highest importance when it comes to any Meiko builds, stats do play an integral role too.

  • Critical Strike: This stat provides a chance for Meiko’s damage and healing to double when they strike critically. This becomes a gamechanger especially for larger pulls and boss fights.
  • Expertise: Investing in this stat will always pay off as it increases all healing, damage, and absorption that Meiko triggers. Use this option to improve Meiko’s offensive abilities.
  • Haste: We suggest also investing in Haste to improve on cast and attack speeds. High Haste will increase the effectiveness of Stone Shield too.

Playstyle Tips

If you’re playing the best Meiko build in Fellowship, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Always use buff finishers first, except for when you’re in dire need of healing. In those scenarios, prioritize restoring Meiko’s HP before getting the buffs.
  • Finishers depend on the global countdown. Make sure you use them after every two combos.
  • Ensure that your Stone Shield is up as much as possible. However, it should definitely remain active during the incoming big strikes. Following this rule should help maximize damage mitigation and improve your chances of survivability.
