How to Catch Mustard Fish in Fisch
Catching Mustard Fish requires three key elements: the right bait, the right season and weather, and boosted luck. Without all three, your chances of success drop significantly.
1. Use Seaweed Bait
Mustard Fish will only bite if you use Seaweed Bait. This is its preferred food, and using any other bait will be a waste of time.
You can get Seaweed Bait in two ways:
- Opening Bait Crates (purchased with in-game currency)
- Fishing near the spawn island (random drop)
Since Seaweed Bait isn’t guaranteed, you may need to open multiple Bait Crates or fish for a while to collect enough before heading out. Always stock up in advance to avoid running out mid-session.
2. Fish During Summer With Rainy Weather
Mustard Fish only spawns during the Summer season and only when it’s raining. If you try to catch it in any other season or weather condition, you will not succeed.
Seasons in Fisch rotate every nine hours, so you may need to wait until Summer before fishing. If it’s Summer but not raining, you can use a Tempest Totem to force rainy weather.
3. Boost Your Luck

- Server Luck (at least 8x) – Purchase from the in-game store or activate during special events.
- Aurora Totem – Boosts luck for catching rare fish.
- Merlin’s Luck – Buy temporary luck boosts from Merlin in the game.
Without luck boosts, the chances of catching Mustard Fish are less than one in several hundred casts. By stacking luck, you significantly increase your chances of reeling one in.
