Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has initiated a criminal investigation into Andrew and Tristan Tate after their arrival in Florida.
Andrew and Tristan Tate are under criminal investigation in Florida following their recent arrival in the state. On March 4, 2025, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that his office would be pursuing legal action against the brothers. The Tate brothers arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 28, 2025. Uthmeier stated that they will be using every legal tool they have in their authority to persecute the Tates.
“They chose to come here and set their feet down in this state. And we are going to pursue every tool that we have in our legal authority to hold them accountable.”

The brothers have been facing criminal allegations in both Romania and the UK. Romania recently lifted their travel restrictions after 2.5 years, allowing them to leave for the U.S. on February 27, 2025.
Governor Ron DeSantis had announced that the Tate’s were not welcome in Florida. DeSantis also announced that they were looking into ways to rebuff Andrew Tate’s arrival in the US. Uthmeier also stated that the Tate’s have publicly admitted to participating in various illegal activities. James also stated that the type of behavior Andrew and Tristan display is perceived as “atrocious” in Florida.
“Look, these guys have themselves publicly admitted to participating in what very much appears to be soliciting, trafficking, preying upon women around the world. Many of these victims are coming forward, some of them minors. People can spin or defend however they want, but in Florida, this type of behavior is viewed as atrocious.

After the Attorney General announced criminal proceedings against Andrew Tate, the 38-year-old has denied any wrongdoings. Tate, supposedly responding to the investigation, alleged that the “Matrix” was attacking him. The controversial personality also stated that they were trying to find crimes because they don’t like him.
Tate has also made a series of tweets referencing the Matrix series. In his initial tweet about the situation, Tate stated that this is similar to the persecutions against President Trump:

Tate alleged that Governor Ron DeSantis was attacking him due to political reasons. DeSantis fears Andrew’s endorsement of congressman Byron Donalds over his wife Casey DeSantis, according to Tate. Andrew states that he had no interest in “Floridian politics” until DeSantis’ criticism against him. The Rumble streamer also claimed that he has “monumental” political weight.
