FragPunk is set to launch on March 6 for PC, while the console version has been delayed indefinitely without a confirmed release date and time.
FragPunk, a new free-to-play 5v5 hero shooter from Bad Guitar Studio, joins the ranks of modern titles like Marvel Rivals and Overwatch 2, with a twist—Shard Cards. These modifiers allow players to bend the rules, ensuring that no two rounds are the same. The game’s alpha and beta tests took place in June 2024 and October 2024, respectively. It generated huge anticipation for the project, and players are eagerly awaiting FragPunk’s release date and time.
FragPunk will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 with full crossplay functionality. The hero shooter will launch worldwide on March 6, 2025, at 4 PM (PT) for PC as scheduled. Unfortunately, the console versions have been delayed.

Why Was FragPunk Console Release Delayed?
While Bad Guitar Studio originally planned to release FragPunk on March 6, 2025, for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 simultaneously, they recently announced a delay for the console versions. The developers shared the delay announcement on their official X (previously Twitter) handle just 2 days before the launch.

In their statement, the developers explained:
“During the console compliance testing process, we encountered unexpected technical challenges in optimization and adaptation. Rather than rushing the console release and providing a potentially poor user experience, we have made the difficult decision to delay the launch of the console versions to ensure that players receive a comparable experience to those on PC.”
Bad Guitar Studio mentioned that they decided to delay the console release due to optimization and adaptation technical issues during the compliance testing process. They emphasized their commitment to delivering a high-quality user experience rather than rushing an unpolished release. However, they did not provide a new release date, leaving fans uncertain and disappointed.
Compensation for Delay
Along with the announcement, they have also expressed their gratitude and appreciation toward the console players eagerly awaiting the release and those who pre-ordered the title.
Bad Guitar Studio has announced the following as compensation:
- Console players will receive all rewards gained from engagement during Season 1 when the game launches on consoles.
- Those who pre-ordered the title will receive $10 worth of in-game currency along with the refund.
Although the console launch has been delayed indefinitely, the developers assured players that they are working closely to release the game as soon as possible while sharing every detail in future updates.
