Everything you need to know about the upcoming hero-shooter, Fragpunk, including the official system requirements, file size, and more.
Fragpunk, the upcoming hero-shooter from Bad Guitar Studio, is just a few days away from its release, i.e., March 6, 2025. The game was first announced back during the Summer Game Fest 2024. However, since then, Bad Guitar Studio has been very coy about revealing much information about the game.
Although the game did receive a few gameplay trailers and technical showcases over the last few months, it didn’t reveal anything in terms of its release. However, the game did promise a 2025 release when it was first announced. And recently, Bad Guitar Studio finally revealed the game’s official release date, alongside a ton of additional details regarding its launch.
Much like some of the recently released hero-shooters out there, Fragpunk is also built using Unreal Engine. And as is the case with most Unreal Engine games, Fragpunk comes with some pretty hefty system specifications. Here’s everything you need to know about Fragpunk’s PC port, its official system requirements, and more.
Fragpunk PC System Requirements
Bad Guitar Studio did not reveal which branch of Unreal Engine they are using for their upcoming hero-shooter. However, based on the game’s system requirements, it seems Fragpunk is developed on Unreal Engine 4 instead of the usual UE5.1.
Due to its use of UE4, the game isn’t nearly as VRAM intensive as something like Marvel Rivals or the now-discontinued Concord. Both Marvel Rivals and Concord are built using Unreal Engine 5.1 and hence feature significantly higher system requirements compared to Bad Guitar Studio’s upcoming title. That being said, here’s a look at the official PC system requirements for Fragpunk:
Minimum
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit or newer
- Processor: Intel i7 8th or AMD Zen2
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 / Intel ARC A380
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 35 GB available space
Recommended
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit or newer
- Processor: Intel i7 10th or AMD Zen3
- Memory: 32 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / Intel ARC A580
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 35 GB available space
Based on the system requirements, Fragpunk doesn’t seem to be too taxing of a game. And given it’s a free-to-play hero-shooter, having lower system requirements is inherently a net positive for the game. As long as you have a low-to-mid-range modern PC, you should be able to play Fragpunk without any issues.
Fragpunk File Size
According to its official system specifications, Fragpunk requires roughly 35 GB of storage space. However, considering it’s a free-to-play multiplayer game with live-service elements, its file size will very likely increase with new title updates and content drops.
Furthermore, since it’s a current-gen title, installing the game on an SSD is highly recommended. Bad Guitar Studio has not revealed the file size of the game on consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S). However, the game can be expected to have roughly the same file size on consoles as the PC version.
