Level-5 announces a free DLC for Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, introducing new recipes and expanded content.
Developed by Level-5, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is an open-world RPG that plunges the player into the mystery surrounding a large island. Ginormosia was home to a prospering civilization 1,000 years ago, but a catastrophic event led to the disappearance of its residents. The player travels back and forth through time to unravel the mystery, all the while championing efforts to rebuild a village and revive the islanders.
Fantasy Life i skyrocketed in sales, and its player base swelled within the first few days since its launch on May 21, 2025. Such was the title’s surge of popularity that Level-5 announced a free DLC update three days after its release. The DLC is called “Update the World!” and it seeks to introduce additional content geared towards the endgame. Here’s what to expect from this pleasantly surprising future update.
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time – Update the World DLC Announcement
On May 23, Level-5 announced plans for a free DLC called “Update the World.” The update will extend to all the game’s platforms, which include Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The developers announced in response to the game’s global success, promising free DLC as well as future updates to give players plenty to do in its world. Although Level-5 hasn’t fleshed out the details yet, the DLC promises:
- New Recipes.
- Expanded content, which will use high-rarity weapons obtained from Treasure Groves and other sources
The developers provided the following announcement on the official site of the game:
Due to the game’s global success and the warm support from players around the world, we have decided to release a free DLC that includes new recipes as well as expanded content under the title ‘Update the World!’
In addition to the DLC announcement, they promised to “continue to update and improve Fantasy Life i so that players can enjoy its world more comfortably and for an even longer time.” Furthermore, the team assured players that the release schedule was adjusted to deliver the DLC as soon as possible.
