Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is the latest RPG set in the world of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire. Any Pop Culture enthusiast would instantly recognize the franchise thanks to the popular HBO Series based on the novels. So, naturally, gamers are eager to learn more about the game, and one of the key questions is whether Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is an open-world title or not.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Features an Open-World
Netmable’s latest open-world action RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, is set in the latter stages of the HBO GoT Show’s fourth season. However, you won’t be part of any major house. Instead, you will be playing as a humble member of the House Tyre. A minor nobility that gets trapped inside the intricate webs of politics and conflict in the world.
Still, there is no reason to think that the game will feel disconnected from the show. We can confirm that during your playthrough, you will meet integral characters like Cersei Lannister and Jon Snow, among others. In addition to that, the developers aim to flesh out stories that were not a part of the HBO adaptation, such as a specific event involving Ramsey Snow’s House Bolton.
Explore Westeros
As we mentioned earlier, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is an open-world title. You will get the opportunity to explore Westeros to your heart’s content, with all its beauty and terror. Many hidden locations and side quests will be scattered throughout the landscape. They will serve as an incentive for exploration and add more to the already established lore of the franchise.
Of course, combat is also part of this RPG. You will be fighting many enemies, human or otherwise, in melee combat. It is only accurate since GoT is essentially a medieval fantasy series. The Multiplayer Mode
Surprisingly, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad does feature a multiplayer mode. The developers have named it “Altar of Memories”, and players will be able to team up with other gamers and fight mystical creatures such as Griffins, Ice Spiders, Unicorns, and more. Netmarble has not revealed too much information regarding this aspect of the RPG. So, you might see some changes in the future.
