Here are our top five new aspects of Ghost of Yotei that might interest you and could elevate the original game.

Ghost of Yotei is the next major PlayStation release, and the developers have plenty to live up to. The original game was an amazing experience to play as a samurai turned Ghost to liberate Tsushima from invaders, but it is time for a new legend to rise. In this sequel, Jin Sakai has passed into legend, and Atsu has a bone to pick with a specific gang.
In this sequel, Sucker Punch Productions aims to improve what was accomplished in the original game. This article will be a list of things you should be excited about in the upcoming sequel.

Things You Should Be Excited for in Ghost of Yotei
1) Instant Flashbacks

As featured in recent previews, you can travel back in time in an instant and see Atsu’s past before he became the Ghost. This can be a useful tool for storytelling but also a subtle flex for the PlayStation 5’s impressive speeds.
The seamless transition between the present day and the past is a unique way to draw players into this new story. Ghost of Yotei is a revenge tale, and the developers could try to spin it with a different approach to better understand Atsu’s motives through instant flashbacks.
2) More Blades and Firearms

Jin Sakai was raised as a samurai and is familiar with the ways of the katana, longbows, and tanto, but 300 years have passed since then. Atsu did not have the same background and was exposed to a much larger variety of weapons. You can use the following weapons in the sequel:
- Odachi
- Spear
- Kusarigama
- Dual swords
- Matchlock rifles
3) New Ways To Discover Hidden Locations

As an open-world sandbox, there are a lot of things to see and do. Similar to the first game, the diegetic UI will make exploration much more satisfying with the screen fully committed to the game world. Rather than just foxes and golden birds, you can discover new areas with new songs played on Atsu’s shamisen.
4) Cinematic Modes

At the last State of Play, Sucker Punch Productions revealed new cinematic modes that can amplify your experience. This is a unique homage to Japanese filmmakers, and a similar feature was later added in the first game.
However, these new modes will also feature Lo-Fi beats that kick in during exploration and combat. It is a good customization feature that will personalize your experience going through Ezo. Different background music will make each trip on horseback much more relaxing and therapeutic before your next battle.
5) Detailed Photo Mode

One of the best parts about Ghost of Tsushima is its lush and colorful world. At launch, the developers promised players could immediately take a second and adjust whatever setting they want to grab a quick snap. It is an expressive way to capture art in another medium and showcase the beauty of Ezo.
