As part of Giovanni Cischke’s Worlds winning Pokemon VGC team, Flutter Mane is now a world champion. This makes it a compelling choice for players who want to try this Paradox Pokemon out for themselves. In this guide, we will look at the best way to use Flutter Mane in VGC based on Giovanni Cischke’s build.

What Is the Build of Giovanni Cishcke’s Flutter Mane?

Flutter Mane is a glass cannon and Giovanni used it as one. His Flutter Mane was built to move fast and deal massive damage. For this, he went with a Stellar Terastallization, as this would give a double damage boost to its STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) moves once and a 1.2 times boost for its other moves for a single time as well. As for the held item, he used a Focus Sash, which let Flutter Mane serve as a lead as it was guaranteed to survive at least one hit.

Moves Used by Giovanni Cishcke’s Flutter Mane

For STAB, his Flutter Mane used Shadow Ball and Moonblast, which are both standard choices in the meta. His third move was Icy Wind, which lowers the opponent’s Pokemon’s speed while dealing useful Ice-type chip damage. Finally, he has Protect as a means to stall for a turn.

Which Pokemon is Flutter Mane Good Against?

Flutter Mane does well against other Ghost-types in the meta, like Calyrex Shadow Rider, Lunala, and itself. This is because it can usually outspeed the two Restricted Legendaries and KO them with Shadow Ball, even without a Stellar Tera boost. To ensure it outspeeds its opponents, a Timid Nature (+Speed, -Attack) is preferred over a Modest one (+Special Attack, -Attack). Additionally

Koraidon is almost a guaranteed KO by a Moonblast from Flutter Mane if it doesn’t Terastallize into a Fire-type. Otherwise, Moonblast deals 4x damage to it.

Common Partners for Flutter Mane

  • Koraidon: If Flutter Mane is paired with Koraidon like how Giovanni did, it gets a sun boost to its Speed thanks to its ability Protosynthesis. However, if your opponent also has a Flutter Mane, this becomes riskier.
  • Chi-Yu: Chi-Yu gives Flutter Mane a damage boost by lowering the Special Defense of all Pokemon on the field.
  • Brute Bonnet: This fellow Paradox Pokemon provides redirection and sleep support. It also has access to STAB Sucker Punch for priority.
