What Is the Build of Giovanni Cishcke’s Koraidon?
Koraidon had a huge advantage going into Regulation I, as once it Terastallized into a Fire-type, its Fire and Dragon STABs were unresisted by most of the meta. Additionally, its ability Orichalcum Pulse could enable common past Paradox Pokemon like Flutter Mane and Brute Bonnet by setting up the sun. Giovanni also gave his Koraidon a Life Orb, providing an extra damage boost to its moves at the cost of recoil damage.
Moves Used by Giovanni Cishcke’s Koraidon
Giovanni went with two main physical attacking moves for his Koraidon: Flare Blitz for Fire STAB (once Terastallized) and Close Combat for Fighting STAB. The reason for choosing Close Combat over Koraidon’s signature move Collision Course appears to be its higher base power. The third move was Flame Charge, a Fire-type damaging move that also boosts the user’s Speed by one stage. Protect was used in the last slot.
Which Pokemon is Koraidon Good Against?
As mentioned previously, Koraidon thrived in this meta. It dealt massive damage to common Pokemon like Zamazenta Crowned, Terapagos, and Incineroar (with a little careful play needed around its ability Intimidate) with Close Combat. Being able to deal with these Pokemon without Terastallizing gives its teammates the option to do so instead.

- Past Paradox Pokemon with the ability Protosynthesis: Pokemon with the ability Protosynthesis get a stat boost as long as the sun is active. As Koraidon sets up the sun when it switches in, this helps these Pokemon. Common meta threats with this ability include Flutter Mane, Raging Bolt, and Brute Bonnet.
