NBA 2K25 is getting a brand-new fast-paced multiplayer game mode as a paid DLC, and here’s what you should know about it.
The latest NBA 2K game will now have a unique multiplayer game called Gravity Ball added as an optional DLC. It’s essentially a futuristic game, complete with powerups, that is only loosely related to basketball. You will be able to access this game mode from The City, after paying $8 to buy it.
Gravity Ball will be available in NBA 2K25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC from October 18, 2024. Read on for all the important details.

As explained by 2K, “Gravity Ball is a fast-paced online multiplayer game—accessible as a paid add-on.” There are 3v3 and 5v5 game modes, wherein you compete in an arena-like dome, with Power-Ups that boost your speed, add a shield, and so on. You can also hop on to vertical platforms, and the court has several points which send you flying in the air. Instead of having baskets, there are several numbered targets you can hit.
This game within a game has been developed by Visual Concepts South, the same studio that created Lego 2K Drive and The Track in NBA 2K25. According to Visual Concepts president Greg Thomas, Gravity Ball is a “mashup of American-Gladiators-meets-futuristic-basketball-meets-paintball.”
Since this will be an optional DLC for NBA 2K25, whether you want to play it is entirely up to you. If you do get it, you’ll need friends or other players who have Gravity Ball as it’s purely multiplayer.
Gravity Ball Release Date, Platform Availability, and Price
You’ll be able to play Gravity Ball for NBA 2K25 from October 18, 2024, at 8 AM PT. This also happens to coincide with the launch of Season 2. As mentioned, you can only get this on the New-Gen versions of NBA 2K25. So, the DLC will only launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Meanwhile, the cost of Gravity Ball is $7.99. Crossplay support is available on consoles, as long as all players own the DLC.
