Here are all the armor sets from Grounded 2, ranked from best to worst, on the basis of their stats and set bonuses.

Wearing the correct armor in Grounded 2 can make all the difference between making progress and getting stuck in a fight. Not all armor sets have the same stats and effects. You’ll want to change them depending on your situation or the type of build you’re using.
There are a bunch of armor sets in the game, so let’s jump into the ranking.

14. Clover Armor Set
There are three armor pieces required to get the set bonus:
- Clover Hood
- Clover Poncho
- Clover Shin Guards
- Moist: You absorb and retain water more efficiently,
This is not a very substantial bonus. There’s a reason this armor is likely the first set you’ll craft. The set bonus is substandard and not worth using.
13. Fuzzy Armor Set
The three pieces for this armor set, and the set bonus, are as follows:
- Fuzzy Hat
- Fuzzy Parka
- Fuzzy Mukluks
- Exertion: Kills reduce Chill buildup
Wearing all three armor pieces just to reduce Chill accumulation is not very efficient. Moreover, Chill is not a particularly difficult status to deal with. You can easily use food or Mutations to manage it. This makes the armor set bonus quite useless.

12. Red Ant Armor Set
The set bonus and armor pieces are:
- Red Ant Helmet
- Red Ant Arm Guards
- Red Ant Knee Guards
- Strength in Numbers: Nearby allies enhance attack power, stacking up to 3 times.
This is a decent attack buff, but it’s highly situational. If you have nearby allies, you’re likely not struggling much anyway.
This set also has two mods. One increases your critical rate, while the other decreases stamina consumption. Although this sounds good on paper, both conditions have major restrictions. Rogue Armor only increases critical rates for the final hit of a combo, while Attack Stamina: Ant only works with weapons made from Red Ant parts, which are limited.
11. Roach Armor Set

Here are the pieces and set bonus for this armor set:
- Roach Helmet
- Roach Chestplate
- Roach Greaves
- Adaptive Resistance: Gain damage resistance against Venom, Chill, or Sizzle, stacks up to five times. Added resistance is removed when negative effects expire.
The set bonus helps avoid the three major status conditions. However, it doesn’t offer full protection, just increased resistance. That resistance also disappears once the condition is gone.
The set also provides a way to restore health by looting corpses. Unfortunately, this won’t help much during combat, since you’ll usually loot after a fight. That makes this perk less useful and places this set near the bottom of the list.
10. Northern Armor Set
The set bonus you gain after equipping all the pieces are:
- Northern Mask
- Northern Spalders
- Northern Breeches
- Crippling Strike: Creatures you ambush with melee weapons are stunned.
This set bonus can be effective with a melee build that focuses on ambush tactics. However, that’s often difficult due to terrain or movement issues. The set also includes two mods.
Rogue Armor has the same effect as in the Red Ant Armor Set. However, this set ranks higher due to the Double Dealskill, which increases your damage if you use a venom build. While not the best, it has its uses.
9. Acorn Armor Set
The set bonus and armor pieces are as follows:
- Acorn Face Mask
- Acorn Plate
- Acorn Greaves
- Hardy Defense: Increased damage resistance while blocking.
Blocking already reduces damage, so increasing this further is helpful, but only if you play defensively. Better options exist for defensive players. This set also has two mods.
Fighter Armor increases the threat from melee attacks. Max Health increases your health. While these are useful, they aren’t particularly special and don’t justify a higher ranking.
8. Sizzling Armor Set
All the armor pieces, bonuses and mods from this set are:
- Sizzling Circlet
- Sizzling Robes
- Sizzling Boots
- Whizzy Wizard: Staff hits increase the speed of your attacks, stacking up to 5 times. The effect resets when hit or when combat ends.
If you are playing as a mage or just using a staff, then this bonus can be quite decent as it increases your attack speed. However, that alone is not enough to place it at a higher spot.
This set also has two good mods. First, Mage Armor is great for any mage build. It reduces the stamina consumption of any staff attacks. Meanwhile, Sizzle Reduction is also useful for reducing damage from Sizzle. All of these combined land this set at a respectable eighth spot.
7. Snail Shell Armor Set

Here are the set bonus, mods, and armor pieces you will need to get these bonuses:
- Snail Shell Casque
- Snail Shell Plastron
- Snail Shell Greaves
- Retaliation: Blocked hits give your next charged melee a shockwave. Retaliation stacks up to 5 times, increasing charge attack speed and damage.
If you are playing defensively, then this can be a great armor set. You can charge up Retaliation by blocking and deal heavy damage in single attacks. This is ideal if you do not want to take risks or hits in battle.
One of the mods of this armor set can also apply Stun damage. These two factors combined place it in the middle spot on the list.
6. Wolf Armor Set
- Wolf Hood
- Wolf Spaulders
- Wolf Leggings
- Deadly Venom: Melee hits might increase venom damage for a short duration.
This set is great to use, especially if you run a venom build. You will be able to inflict more venom damage while performing melee attacks. This makes weapons that have high venom damage but low melee damage more viable with this armor. On top of this, the Venomous Dasher mod lets you inflict more venom buildup with dual weapons.
5. Butterfly Armor Set
- Butterfly Circlet
- Butterfly Robes
- Butterfly Boots
- Chilly Dodge: Staff finisher hits give your body power for a short time. Blast foes with a gust of chilling wind when you dodge.
This is a great set bonus for any mage build. If you use a staff finisher, you will summon gusts of wind every time you dodge. These will inflict chill on your enemies. In addition, Parrier Barrier is a great mod that gives you a buffer to attack freely without worrying about getting hit.
Both of these factors combined put this set in the fifth spot among all the armor sets in Grounded 2.
4. Weaver Armor Set
The following are the armor pieces alongside the set bonus:
- Weaver Hood
- Weaver Spaulders
- Weaver Leggings
- Critical Momentum: Successful attacks increase critical hit chance, stacking up to 5 times. Lose stacks when hit or combat ends.
- Web Crawler: Navigate web bridges slightly faster and no longer get trapped by environmental spider webs.
This set is great for two reasons. If you are a late-game player, then this set rewards you for playing perfectly without taking damage. It increases your critical rate with every successful attack. Meanwhile, the other set bonus lets you navigate through spider-infested areas without worrying about getting trapped.
3. Grub Armor Set
- Grub Goggles
- Grub Vest
- Grub Leggings
- Lone Ranger: Increased attack damage with bows and spears.
This is a simple but strong armor set. If you use bows or spears, then this set will be quite useful and straightforward. It provides a decent damage boost for both weapon types. Although the effect sounds simple, it is quite strong (at least for now).
2. Ladybug Armor Set
The set pieces and bonuses are:
- Ladybug Faceplate
- Ladybug Chestplate
- Ladybug Shin Guards
- Scarlet Embrace: Blocked attacks restore health slightly.
This is the go-to armor set if you do not want to die in the game. The restoration of health upon successful blocks is a very strong effect. Many players can simply stand and block enemy attacks to heal more damage than they take. Moreover, blocked attacks drain less stamina due to the Bargain Block mod.
1. Bee Armor Set

Finally, the best armor set has the following effect:
- Bee Face Mask
- Bee Shoulder Pads
- Bee Shin Guards
- Apex Pollinator: Perfectly charged bow shots release a cloud of pollen that slows targets.
If you are a bow user, then this set is the one to use. Hitting enemies from afar and then slowing them down prevents them from reaching you if you keep moving away. If you are able to master its use, then the Apex Pollinator skill will be your best ally.
These were all the armor sets ranked from worst to best in Grounded 2.
