Grounded 2 features a mechanic where you can tame and ride buggies, which makes traveling faster and more convenient. However, to get your hands on one of these mounts, you will need their respective eggs and wait for them to hatch. Additionally, these mounts are locked behind a story quest. This means you will need to make progress in the story first before you can have your own mount.

With that said, here is a list of all buggies in Grounded 2, including how you can tame and ride them in the game.

You can acquire Buggy eggs by progressing through the story quests in Grounded 2. If you are playing in co-op, there should be enough eggs for every player. This means you don’t have to worry about missing out on multiplayer.

Once you have the egg, you need to unlock the Hatchery blueprint for 500 Real Science points. After getting the blueprint, building it requires the following materials:

  • x6 Weed Stems
  • x1 Acorn Top
  • x5 Acorn Shells
  • x5 Mite Fuzz

Hatching an egg takes time, so you can do other activities while waiting. Once it’s done, you can get yourself a saddle and ride your buggy mount.

More Buggies Coming Soon

There are only two available buggies in Grounded 2 as of now. However, the Early Access roadmap showed a Ladybug Buggy arriving sometime in Winter 2025. Additionally, water Buggies will also be added sometime in Summer 2026, with more unannounced buggies confirmed for release.

Can Buggies Die?

Yes, your buggy mounts can die in Grounded 2. If they take too much damage, they get knocked down before dying. During this time, you have around a minute and 30 seconds to help them back up. If you fail to do it, they die and won’t be available for four minutes.
