Classes in Grounded 2 are a new feature that introduces special archetypes for players to focus on. Different weapons and armors belong to different classes, and each has a unique playstyle.

Currently, there are a total of four available classes that players can choose from. However, the Grounded 2 roadmap reveals that more classes are going to be added to the game in the future. To help you pick one, here’s a guide explaining all the classes currently available in Grounded 2.

While the class system is completely new, many armor sets from the previous game have made a return in Grounded 2. However, each set has been assigned different classes, and wearing the complete set gives you a special buff/skill unique to that class. That said, here’s an explanation of the four different classes:

Fighter

The Fighter class is the easiest archetype to use in the game due to its simplicity. This class focuses on using either a one-handed weapon and shield combo or a two-handed heavy weapon to deal damage. Moreover, you tend to be very tanky due to the unique class effect, which generates threat. It is a status effect that provokes nearby bugs to target you. If you are playing in a party or confident in your combat abilities, this is a perfect class for you.

Here are some armor sets that fall under the Fighter class:

  • Acorn Face Mask
  • Ladybug Faceplate
  • Roach Helmet
  • Snail Shell Casque
  • Acorn Plate
  • Ladybug Chestplate
  • Roach Chestplate
  • Snail Shell Plastron
  • Acorn Greavers
  • Ladybug Shin Guards
  • Roach Greavers
  • Snail Shell Greavers

Rogue

Rogues are all about being stealthy and dealing critical hits. Moreover, you are going to use dagger-type weapons that you can dual-wield. Note that you have near to no defense, so you are going to heavily rely on the new dodge/dash mechanic to avoid hits. The unique skill of this class is that the final hit of your 3-hit combo attacks has an increased critical chance.

This is the first class that you take advantage of by using the Red Ant armor set, which can be unlocked immediately after leaving the Ominent facility. Here are some of the armors that fall under the Rogue class:

  • Red Ant Helmet
  • Northern Mask
  • Weaver Hood
  • Wolf Hood
  • Red Ant Arm Guards
  • Northern Spaulders
  • Weaver Spaulders
  • Wolf Spaulders
  • Northern Breeches
  • Weaver Leggings
  • Wolf Leggings

Ranger

If you do not like bugs entering your personal space, take advantage of the Ranger class, which is all about using bows and arrows. However, this class is not best suited for solo playthroughs due to the low damage output early in the game. If you have a Fighter in your party, they can take the aggro while you deal damage to the enemy.

The unique skill of this class is that you deal extra damage to enemy weak points. You can identify the weak points of all bugs by using the peeping feature. Here are the armors that fall under the Ranger class:

  • Grub Goggles
  • Bee Face Mask
  • Markman’s Cap
  • Grub Vest
  • Bee Shoulder Pads
  • Grub Leggings
  • Bee Shin Guards

Mage

Magic makes a return in Grounded 2, and this time, you get to unlock it much faster than before. Elemental staves are great when it comes to damage output, but attacking consumes a ton of your stamina. If you choose to utilize the Mage class armor, attacking with staves consumes less stamina, which results in more damage.

Do note that you are going to sacrifice a lot of physical defense if you don’t wear Mage armor. That said, here are all the armor pieces that fall under the Mage class:

  • Butterfly Circlet
  • Sizzling Circlet
  • Sizzling Robes
  • Butterfly Robes
  • Sizzling Boots
  • Butterfly Boots

This concludes our guide on all the classes in Grounded 2.
