In Grounded 2, the Fighter class is one of the two melee archetypes available in early access. Additionally, wearing the armor set of this class generates threat, meaning enemies are more likely to target you. This makes you more tanky and able to take more hits.

Here’s the best Fighter build you can use in Grounded 2 right now.

Currently, the Snail Shell armor is the top choice for Fighters due to its high defense and blocking mods. Not only do you attract more threat, but your blocks also stun enemies, allowing you to deal significant damage. Here’s how you can craft the entire Snail Shell Set:

  • Snail Shell Casque: 3x Garden Snail Fragment, 3x Garden Snail Eyestalk, and 2x Lingonberry Leather.
  • Snail Shell Plastron: 5x Garden Snail Fragment, 5x Acid Gland, and 4x Lingonberry Leather.
  • Snail Shell Greaves: 4x Garden Snail Fragment, 2x Silk Rope, and 4x Lingonberry Leather.

Now that you can survive longer, let’s move on to other equipment.

The only worthwhile Tier 3 weapon for the Fighter class is the Roach Club. Though a bit slow, it has high damage and stun capabilities, fitting the defensive style of this class. Pair it with the Scarlet Aegis Shield, which has the Heavy Guard mod. Note that this build relies heavily on blocking and parrying. Here’s how to craft the equipment:

  • Roach Club: 2x Roach Head, 3x Roach Chunk, and 2x Blueberry Leather.
  • Scarlet Aegis Shield: Obtained through adventuring.

Combine this with the O.R.C. Nullifier trinket, which reduces damage dealt by nearby O.R.C. enemies.

Finally, here are the mutations to maximize your damage and defenses:

  • Smasher: Attacks with clubs deal more stun and extra damage to stunned enemies.
  • Parry Master: Perfect blocks restore stamina.
  • Cardio Fan: You regain stamina faster after depleting all of it.

Alternatively, you can use Frenzy instead of Parry Master, unlocked after defeating the Masked Stranger. You lose your blocking abilities, but hitting enemies builds up rage. While enraged, you deal more damage and regenerate health upon hits.
