MIX.R is one of the hardest challenges you can take on in Grounded 2. Here’s how to complete the Grass Games MIX.R.

In Grounded 2, the MIX.R is a returning feature from the prequel, which is a wave defense challenge you can attempt to earn large amounts of Raw Science. Currently, there is only one MIX.R challenge, located in the Grass Games zone. Additionally, this is one of the most difficult challenges in Grounded 2, so you can consider it an endgame objective for the current patch. To help you out, here’s how to activate and complete the Grass Games MIX.R in Grounded 2.

Preparation Before the Grass Games MIX.R in Grounded 2

When you first arrive at the MIX.R location, you won’t be able to challenge it until you complete the Signals and Stashes mission. This requires destroying four O.R.C. transmitters scattered across the map. Once you finish the quest, you can use the Wrench Omni-Tool to repair the MIX.R and challenge it. However, you should prepare a bit before the fight, as it’s going to be very tough.
- Depending on your preferred class, choose one of the following sets:
- Snail Shell Armor Set
- Weaver Armor Set
- Wolf Armor Set
- Pinch Whacker: A good smashing weapon with high stun potential. The final hit of the three-hit combo also deals a large AoE (Area of Effect) attack.
- Scarlet Aegis: One of the best shields in the game right now.
- O.R.C. Nullifier: This trinket reduces damage from all O.R.C. type enemies nearby. It’s the best trinket for this fight since all enemies are O.R.C. variants.
- Volatile Capacitor: An upgraded version of the O.R.C. Nullifier, but it requires Brain Power Level 9 to craft. Make it if you can for an easier fight.
- Orb Weaver Buggy/Red Ant Buggy: Both can help divert some of the focus from the MIX.R during battle.
- Healing Items: High-tier bandages and smoothies are essential for this fight.
Now that you’re ready, here’s how to win the Grass Games MIX.R.
Enemies During the Grass Games MIX.R in Grounded 2

The Grass Games MIX.R spawns three waves of O.R.C. enemies that primarily target the machine until you damage them. When activated, a timer and health bar appear on your screen. Defeating enemies advances the timer, and the health bar shows how much damage the MIX.R can take before shutting down. If the health drops to zero, the MIX.R breaks, and you fail the challenge. Don’t worry; you can repair the MIX.R and try again. Here’s a list of all enemies you’ll face during the challenge:
- O.R.C. Weevil
- O.R.C. Red Soldier Ant
- O.R.C. Spiderling
- O.R.C. Weaver Jr.
- O.R.C. Weaver
- O.R.C. Ladybug
- O.R.C. Northern Scorpling
- O.R.C. Northern Scorpion
- O.R.C. Praying Mantis Nymph
Now that you know what enemies to expect, here’s how to survive each wave.

Challenging the Grass Games MIX.R in Grounded 2

Once you complete a wave, you have a brief moment of respite to gather up bug corpses and heal up. Note that bug corpses attract cockroaches, so pick them up. That said, here are all the waves:
Wave 1
The first wave features O.R.C. Weaver Jr. and Weevils. Focus on eliminating the Weevils immediately since they are fast and only have one attack—exploding. Their explosion inflicts heavy damage, so keep them away from the MIX.R.
Wave 2
The second wave begins with a few O.R.C. Spiderlings and one O.R.C. Weaver. Spiderlings are easy to handle, but ensure the Weaver is down before it reaches the MIX.R. The next group includes several O.R.C. Soldier Ants and two O.R.C. Ladybugs. The Ladybugs deal significant damage, so block during their attacks.
Wave 3
The final wave starts with a mix of O.R.C. Northern Scorplings and a few exploding Weevils. Again, eliminate the Weevils quickly. Taking out the Scorplings triggers the arrival of two Scorpions and one Weaver. This is the most challenging part, as all enemies spawn with numerous minions that can quickly overwhelm you.
Use the Pinch Whacker to deal massive AoE damage or build some walls around the MIX.R before the third wave if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Killing all enemies spawns the O.R.C. Praying Mantis Nymph, the strongest enemy in this challenge. Stay away from its ground slam attack to avoid severe damage, and lure it away from the MIX.R to protect it. Completing the challenge rewards you with 3,000 Raw Science and levels up the Guard Dog mutation. This mutation boosts your health and damage for future wave challenges, making subsequent MIX.R. encounters much easier.
