In this guide, we’ll take a look at how you can find a Red Ant Buggy in Grounded 2 and how you can undertake the hatching process.

In your shrunken state, the bugs of Grounded 2 can serve as both your worst enemies and your best friends. While you’ll encounter a host of hostile insects that just want to kill you, you can also raise bugs of your own to help you on your journey.
One of these friendly insects is the Red Ant Buggy, and it can help you to traverse the map quicker, find resources, and fight off enemies. However, unlocking one is no easy task. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can get a Red Ant Buggy and exactly what it involves.
How To Unlock the Red Ant Buggy in Grounded 2

You will have to get the Turbo Optical Disk hidden inside the anthill near the Ominent you came out of if you want to unlock the Red Ant Buggy. Simply go inside the location, fight off the ants there, and dig up a chest. Inside this chest is the Optical Disk you want along with a token. As soon as you do this, you’ll unlock the ability to raise a Red Ant Buggy, but you still need to find a Red Ant Buggy egg. For that, you’ll have to head to another anthill nearby. This time around, you will find a lot more enemy ants in your way, so prepare for a tough fight.
We suggest killing all of the enemies on your way in. Make sure you have plenty of bandages to heal yourself and proper armor to protect yourself against incoming attacks. Also, you should arm yourself with a weapon that deals stabbing damage. The ants in your way will be weak to this type of damage. After you pick up the egg, you’ll need to carry it all the way outside. If you didn’t kill all of the enemies on your way in, they’ll attack you while you are trying to exit. If you get hit, you’ll drop the egg you’re carrying, making the entire journey far tougher.

Red Ant Buggy in Grounded 2: How To Hatch the Egg
You will need to build a hatchery before you can hatch your own pet Red Ant Buggy. Once that’s done, you need to place the egg in the hatchery and wait 12 hours in-game for the ant to hatch. Each in-game hour is equivalent to two minutes in the real world. So, you can either wait around 24 minutes for the ant egg to hatch. Or you can speed things up by sleeping after placing the egg in the hatchery. You can sleep for 8 in-game hours each time. So, you’ll still have to spend another 4 in-game hours or 8 minutes for the egg to finally hatch.
Once the Red Ant Buggy hatches, you should craft a nest for it. By creating a nest, you can name the insect and assign it to one of your hotkeys. You can press that key to call upon your Red Ant Buggy when out in the world. It will reach your position pretty early, after which you can ride it to get around the map quickly. Or, you can use the bug as a backup when taking on challenging foes.
