A torch is one of the most important tools you can get in Grounded 2. Once you start exploring dark caves, it’s almost impossible to navigate without a light source. It gets worse during nighttime when you can no longer rely on the daylight coming from outside the cave. Fortunately, it’s not that hard to craft a light source in the game.
With that said, here is a guide on how you can get a torch in Grounded 2 and the materials needed to craft it.
How To Craft a Torch in Grounded 2
To get a torch, you first need to scavenge for the following materials:
- Sprig x2
- Sap x1
- Dry Grass Chunk x3
Crafting a torch is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is head to the Handcrafting section by pressing the Z key on your keyboard or the down button on your controller’s D-pad. Once you do, find the Torch in the list of “Light” items you can craft. You can see the materials needed in this menu. If you have all the necessary materials, you can start crafting a torch. Make sure it’s highlighted so you don’t craft the wrong item.
Where To Find Crafting Materials
The materials needed to craft a torch in Grounded 2 are fairly easy to find. The first one is the sprigs, which you can find literally anywhere. Make sure to check your ground while walking around and pick up some sprigs.
Saps are orange liquids that can be found dripping on the surface of barks. You’ll have to keep an eye out for barks you come across while exploring. As for the dry grass chunks, you can find them by chopping down dried grass. You can tell grass is dry if it’s way more pale than regular grass.
How To Equip Torch
You will want to equip the torch in your weak hand. However, be careful as the torch will continue to light up until it burns out. If you want to conserve your resources, make sure to turn it off when you are not using it.
