As you play through Grounded 2, you’ll come across a variety of dangerous creatures out for your blood. While dealing with all of these can be problematic, there’s perhaps nothing more challenging than fighting venom-inflicting creatures. Wolf Spiders and Scorpions are some of the examples of monsters that deal this type of damage.

If you aren’t properly prepared for these encounters, these creatures could easily take you down. So, in this guide, we will explore some of the methods to reduce or avoid damage from venom in Grounded 2.

The venom damage comes with a meter that slowly fills as you come into contact with the toxins released by Scorpions or Wolf Spiders. When the meter is full, it greatly eats away at your HP, and it can kill you in a matter of seconds. The only way to protect yourself against this effect is to utilize items that offer Venom Resistance, Venom Reduction, or Venom Cure. Here are some of the methods of acquiring such protection.

The Scorpidote Smoothie

This is a recipe that you can craft and consume to get effective protection against venom. This method is highly convenient since you don’t have to equip a particular set of armor or equipment to take advantage of the protection. When you consume this item, the rate at which Venom builds up will decrease. Also, if you already have existing Venom buildup, the smoothie will reduce that as well. Make sure you have plenty of the item in stock before you head over to fight a Scorpion or a Wolf Spider. Here are the ingredients you require to make a Scorpidote Smoothie.

  • Northern Scorpion Chunk
  • Scorpion Venom
  • Orb Weaver Chunk

Using the Mithridatism Mutation

If you have the Mithridatism mutation unlocked, you will gain both Venom Reduction and Venom Resistance naturally. Venom Reduction will slow the rate at which Venom builds up for your character. On the other hand, Venom Resistance lowers the health damage you take from the Venom affliction. While it’s challenging to unlock the full mutation, you can get the first tier relatively easily. You will need to kill five venomous creatures to unlock the first level of this mutation. Level two and level three require you to kill 50 and 150 venomous creatures, respectively.

Venom Resistant Armor

The final way to safeguard yourself against venom is to equip the right armor pieces. You can use the Adaptive Resistance Gear Set Bonus, which allows you to protect yourself against Venom, Chill, and Sizzle depending on the current threat you’re facing. To get this bonus, you will have to wear a full set of matching gear that has this effect. For instance, if you can equip the Roach Chestplate, Roach Helmet, and Roach Greaves at the same time, you’ll be able to utliize the amazing protective bonus.
