The Animals update is live in Grow a Garden! You can now hatch new animals, which can offer some passive effects and help in your gardening experience. A new Divine Pepper crop has been added. Some much-awaited quality-of-life improvements, like walk speed and other mechanics, have also been updated. The update launched on May 3, 2025, and players had the chance to redeem a free Panda animal for one hour at the time of release.

Everything To Know About the Latest Grow a Garden Update

Animals!

Pet animals are here! Your pets will offer certain passives to help your garden. For example, a common dog pet can occasionally dig up a seed for you. Pets need to be fed and maintained regularly. Like seeds, pets can hatch in various sizes, but their size does not impact their passive abilities.

You can purchase six different types of eggs from the new Pet Eggs store, which has replaced the Quests NPC. Additionally, you can only equip three pets at a time. The different rarities of eggs and what they offer are:

New Crops!

The Pepper plant is the latest Divine rarity plant added to the game. You can buy the Pepper seed from the seeds shop for a whopping 1 million Sheckles. It is a multi-harvest crop and each harvested Pepper can sell for upwards of 10,000 Sheckles.

Quality of Life Improvements and Bug Fixes

The latest update brings in several quality-of-life improvements to the game. Firstly, the default walking speed has been increased. You can now traverse much faster than before. Sprinklers will now stack in your backpack when you buy more than one. Before this update, the sprinklers were not stackable.

Moreover, the daily quests will now be available to players in the Gear Shop. Interact with the Eloise NPC and choose to see the daily quests. Some changes have been made to improve performance, as well as the auto-collect mechanic. Additionally, Jim the Angry Plant now has a timer over its head. Make sure to complete the Angry Plant quests and get seed packs before it runs out.
