Before we get to the final verdict, let’s talk about the pros and cons of both GTA 5 Enhanced and Legacy versions:

GTA 5 Legacy Pros and Cons

The GTA 5 Legacy is the original game that was released back in 2013. Because it’s an old game, it doesn’t require too many resources to run. This means you won’t have to worry about performance issues as long as you meet the minimum system requirements.

The downside of this is that you won’t be able to play with other players online who upgraded to GTA 5 Enhanced. Depending on how many people migrated their accounts to the new update, the servers will not be as packed as before. This can be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on your playstyle. If you play online solo, you’re not really missing out on much in terms of new content. Legacy is still getting the recent Oscar Guzman Flies Again expansion.

GTA 5 Enhanced Pros and Cons

The GTA 5 Enhanced includes some graphics enhancements and performance upgrades to compensate for the better visual quality. It includes ray tracing, faster loading times, higher resolution and frame rate, and more immersive audio. This upgrade also added new content that was previously only available in the console version of the game. Some examples include Haos Special Works, Shoot Animals Photography Challenge, and more.

The downside for this is that it now requires a bit higher system requirements to run. Another feature that was removed that is arguably important in the roleplay aspect is the free chat. You won’t be able to chat with other players in the current version of the game. However, you can still do voice calls if you want. It’s still unknown whether Rockstar Games will be adding the chat feature back in future updates.

Overall, GTA 5 is arguably the best version of Grand Theft Auto 5, and it’s also free. Despite the lack of a chat feature online, the game’s new content and graphics enhancements are worth it. Loading times in this version are also much faster compared to the Legacy version. This means you can spend more time playing the game than staring at a promotional artwork slide show.

On the other hand, GTA 5 Legacy’s graphics still hold up to this day. It is arguably one of the best-looking environments in the game, even without the graphics enhancements from Enhanced. So if you don’t mind missing out on a few content, you can definitely stick with Legacy.
