Industry Analyst Predictions

Industry Analysts have shared their fair share of predictions about the pricing of GTA 6. The most recent one is from Michael Patcher, through a post from The Telegram. He is a well-known video games analyst working with Wedbush Securities.

According to him, the development budget of GTA 6 is estimated to be around $1.5 billion. However, once the game releases, it should generate billions of profit. Fans have been waiting for this game for a long while now. It’s expected that a lot of players will purchase the game on release day.

It’s a massive leap from the standard $70 premium price of current games. His predictions align with other analysts. Investment experts at Konvoy stated that Take-Two Interactive, the owner of Rockstar Games, will break even within 30 days after GTA 6 is released.

“For Take-Two Interactive’s $2 billion investment into this game, we believe they will break even on that within 30 days of release.”

With that estimated production cost, Patcher speculated that the game would launch with a $100 price tag. The game is speculated to earn over $10 billion in lifetime revenue. That’s not including GTA 6 Online’s revenue from possible microtransactions, which is expected to earn $500 million per year.

On a now-deleted post, reputable leaker @millieamand shared on X some information about the pricing for GTA 6 editions. The pricing actually aligns with the analysts who talked about the pricing for the game.

The leak stated that the GTA 6 Standard Edition will have a premium price of £69.99 ($92.98). There are other tiers on the post, with the most expensive, the Premium Edition, priced at £109.99 ($146.12). Each tier offers varying perks, including early access to online multiplayer.

Conclusion

It’s hard to predict how likely the predictions about the GTA 6 pricing are true. Rockstar Games is yet to make any announcements about the game’s price and features. According to IBT, GTA 5 is one of the most expensive games currently produced. Development and marketing of the game overall cost $265 million. The cost was for the 2013 standards. Considering how expensive game development is in recent times, it’s more likely that we will be seeing GTA 6 with an above $70 price tag. With that said, this is purely speculation, so take this information with a grain of salt.
