If you want to play with only your friends in GTA Online, you can create a Private Session together. This allows you to invite only specific players instead of having random people online. Sometimes, playing online in a random session can be frustrating. There will be moments when some players decide to ruin the fun for everyone by trolling in the game.

A private session eliminates this risk, offering a safer environment to explore the game world, complete missions, or simply hang out without interruptions. It’s also a great way to collaborate on in-game tasks, such as heists, business operations, or special events, without interference from hostile players.

How To Host Invite-Only Sessions in GTA Online

If you want to play with your friends in a private session, follow these steps:

  1. Launch GTA 5 and Launch Story Mode
  2. Select “Play GTA Online” in Options Menu
  3. Select “Invite Only Session”
  4. Invite Friends

This option works for all platforms. This includes PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

1. Launch GTA 5 and Launch Story Mode

Launch the game and start Story Mode first. This will allow you to open up the menu that you need to start a private session in GTA Online.

2. Select “Play GTA Online” in Options Menu

Once you are in a single-player game, press the Esc button on your keyboard to pull up the options menu. The process may be different when using a controller. Click the “Play GTA Online” option to show more options for online mode. Here, you can find multiple options, including a way to create a private session in GTA Online.

3. Select “Invite Only Session”

Click the “Invite Only Session” if you only want to play with players that you invite. There are other options, like “Crew Session” or “Closed Friend Session,” if you want more customization.

Once you finish loading the online session, you can start inviting your friends for a private session in GTA 5. Simply pull up the options menu one more time by pressing the Esc button. Click the Friends tab to show your list of friends. You can then start inviting them to your private session.
