The GTA Online weekly update for April 3 to April 9, 2025, recently experienced a few issues which caused frustrations among players.

The GTA Online event week featuring the Peyote plants has been hit with an issue. According to online discussions, the plant’s cooldown was mistakenly changed to nearly a month. Originally, the respawn cooldown of the Peyote plans was supposed to be just under an hour. This resulted in the community feeling frustrated and voicing their concerns online.
As if the Peyote plant issue wasn’t enough, the April 3 GTA Online weekly update came with even more problems, angering the community further. These included a missing in-game discount that was advertised and a reward that was removed without any notice.

Community Outrage Due to GTA Online Peyote Plant Having a Month-Long Cooldown

One of the content releases for the GTA Online weekly update for April 3 to April 9, 2025, was the return of the Peyore plants. While it doesn’t offer much, players often collect these plants to transform into animals and mess around with friends. This side content doesn’t usually get released frequently. This means that most players who are aware of this will try to make the most out of it.
Unfortunately, a bug regarding the respawn timer of the Peyote plants left players frustrated. These plats usually respawn around 48 minutes of real time after a player consumes them. However, to everyone’s surprise, the plants are not spawning after waiting for a long time.
According to internet discussions, there is an error with the timer, resulting in the Peyote plants having a 33-day (more than a month) respawn cooldown. This was revealed by Tez2 on the GTA Forums website.
“It turns out R* has the VC_PEYOTE_COOLDOWN tunable value set to 2880000 seconds, and not 2880 seconds. So that’s like a cooldown of a whole month.”
Fortunately, Rockstar Games released a hotfix within a few hours, and the value was changed to the intended 48-minute respawn cooldown. However, for those who have already consumed a Peyote plant, they still have the frustratingly long cooldown active on the locations where they got those plants.
Rockstar has fixed the cooldown bug with Peyote Plants.

Players who have already collected one or more peyote plants may still experience an active cooldown at the locations they’ve visited and will have to wait for another fix.#GTAOnline https://t.co/UgmNUwrvv5

Other Issues for the GTA Online Weekly Update
On top of the Peyote plant issue, Rockstar Games has made some mistakes on other content for this week’s update.
Unavailable Discount for Pfister Comet S2

Rockstar Games previously announced that the Pfister Comet S2 was one of the discounted cars you can purchase for 30% off. However, it turns out it was not part of the discounted lists. Players who went to check it out in-game found that the discount was not available.
At the time of writing this article, the official newswire no longer includes the Pfister Comet S2 on the list of discounted cars. However, you can still get the car for free on this week’s Lucky Wheel.
Promised Racing Suit Vanishes from Event Week Rewards
Another issue that players noticed was the incomplete rewards for completing three races within 72 hours of completion. According to an email sent out for GTA fan pages to hype up the update, the rewards include a Dark Manor Racing Suit on top of $200,000 in-game cash. However, players who complete the challenge only receive the money and not the outfit.
When Rockstar Games posted their weekly newswire, the Dark Manor Racing Suit was not included in the challenge rewards. This frustrated fans as they thought it included a limited-time outfit. Unfortunately, players who inquired at Rockstar customer support confirmed that the Dark Manor Racing Suit was never part of the rewards for this week’s challenge.
