Supergiant Games recently celebrated the anniversary of the early access release for Hades II. The original Hades was a smashing success and is considered one of the greatest games of all time. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that its sequel, Hades II, is highly anticipated.
As one year has passed since the early access of Hades II, Supergiant Games made a post thanking the players who have stuck with them since then and teased the full release of the game.
What Happened on the Hades 2 Early Access Anniversary?

Hades II became available for early access on May 6, 2024. In the year that has passed since then, it has received dozens of patches, two major updates, and more. So, on May 6, 2025, Supergiant Games thanked players for sticking with the game for a whole year and for the valuable feedback they have provided.
In these posts, the studio also thanked players for their patience as they move closer to the finish line. They mentioned they are working on the third major update for the game, which is set to release sometime this spring.
As far as we know, this third update will be the last major update before the full release. So, with the update close at hand, the full release is likely not too far away either. In the meantime, however, Hades II has plenty of content to keep players engaged until then.

What Will the Third Major Update Contain for Hades 2?
In the year since the early access of Hades II began, the game has received two major updates:
Olympic Update
The first was the Olympic Update, released on October 16, 2024. It added a vast number of features to the game. Key among them were the sixth and final weapon usable by the player, and the third region on the surface—Mount Olympus itself, beset by the Titan Prometheus. In addition, it introduced new animal familiars, events, characters, boons, and many other changes.
Warsong Update
The next major update was the Warsong Update, released on February 19, 2025. This update added the fourth and final region on the surface, along with its final boss. It also reintroduced the god of war, Ares, who had not yet appeared in the game. In addition, it brought new boons and made several other changes, such as adjustments to arcana and weapon aspects.
By analyzing what Supergiant has said they are currently working on, we can predict some of what will be included in the next update. The hidden aspects of weapons are among the features already stated as goals. Beyond that, we can expect the extreme measures equivalent for bosses in Hades II. Finally, the update is also likely to expand both the main storyline and many of the subplots connected to it.
