Everything you need to know about the Ecstasy boss in Mists of Plains, including its location and how to easily defeat it in Hell Is Us.
Hell Is Us isn’t an action RPG, far from it. Instead, the game is more akin to classic action-adventure games, with puzzles being the primary focus. That said, Hell Is Us does have a fairly robust combat system, inspired by souls-like RPGs. Furthermore, while there aren’t too many boss fights in the game. However, the ones that are there are quite memorable. One such boss fight is against the Haze of Ecstasy.
Hazes are already incredibly challenging enemy types in Hell Is Us. However, the boss/mini-boss variants are a significant step-up in difficulty. Much like the Haze of Terror boss, the Haze of Ecstasy is one of the final few challenges in the game’s story.
While the boss does deal a ton of damage, it’s also quite easy to defeat if you play to its weaknesses. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to easily defeat the Mists of Plains’ Ecstasy boss in Hell Is Us.

How To Reach Mists of Plains in Hell Is Us
To reach Mists of Plains, you need to first complete Act 1 of Hell Is Us’ story. Furthermore, in Act 2, you need to follow the Keystone of Ecstasy Investigation to eventually reach the Mists of Plains. Since it’s a story-related location, you cannot miss the Mists of Plains during your playthrough.
Note that in order to reach Mists of Plains, you need to complete the story quests in Jeljin and Vyssa Hills. Furthermore, we highly recommend upgrading your weapons to at least Grade 4 and Level 16 before heading to Jeljin. Doing so will help you a lot against the Grade 3 enemies in Jeljin, as well as the Mists of Plains.
Once you reach the Plains, simply make your way through the cave, complete the door as well as the pressure plate puzzles, and you will reach the location with the Keystone of Ecstasy. Picking up the Keystone will initiate the boss fight against the Haze of Ecstasy.
How To Defeat the Ecstasy Boss in Mists of Plains
Here are some tips on how to defeat the Haze of Ecstasy in Mists of Plains:
- Unlike the Haze of Terror, the Ecstasy boss has only two phases, which are fairly straightforward. However, the biggest issue that you will face against the Haze of Ecstasy is the elemental build-up. Once afflicted with Ecstasy, you will move much faster; at the same time, your Stamina consumption will increase as well.
- To counter Ecstasy build-up, we highly recommend bringing plenty of Med Kits as well as Ecstasy Potions. Do note that you can use consumables before entering the boss fight. Effects of the consumables can be stacked and last even when transitioning into a boss fight.
- We also highly recommend completing at least two Timeloops. Doing so will reward you with the Knell of Ebbing Ecstasy Relic. Using the Knell of Ebbing Ecstasy, you can banish the Haze of Ecstasy twice during the boss fight. Furthermore, activating the Relic also deals damage to the boss.
- Unlike in the case of the Haze of Terror, the Ecstasy boss’s HP is divided among all the Grade 1 and Grade 2 Hazes that appear during the battle. As such, you can damage those enemies as well to whittle down the boss’s health.
- However, the best way to defeat the Haze of Ecstasy is to break the Mushroom-like Hazes that appear during the battle’s second phase. The Mushrooms can buff the Hazes in the vicinity; as such, killing them should be your priority.

Reward for Defeating the Ecstasy Boss in Mists of Plains
Defeating the Haze of Ecstasy in the Mists of Plains rewards you with the Keystone of Ecstasy, as well as final clues needed for the Investigation. Additionally, you also receive a good chunk of Large crafting shards, which can be used to upgrade your weapons to Grade 4.
