Can You Play Hollow Knight Silksong on Steam Deck?

Absolutely. Team Cherry has optimized Silksong in a way that it runs on anything you throw it at. Both the Steam Deck and the OLED are way too overpowered for this.
The game launches easily in Deck mode, but there is an option to play it via Proton if needed. Right out of the box, and without configuring anything, you can start and enjoy the game. However, if you want the best experience possible, such as prolonged playtime and no frame rate hiccups, please take a look at the guide below.
Best Settings To Play Hollow Knight Silksong on Steam Deck
The Steam Deck and the OLED can run the game effortlessly. But with the default settings, you may be unknowingly playing in performance mode. These fine-tuned settings strike a balance between battery life and fluidity.
Resolution: Stick to 1280 x 800 (native resolution) as the GPU within the decks can handle this without any problems.
Frame Rate Limit: Cap at 60FPS. This ensures you get the best battery life, reduced CPU and GPU usage for better input latency, and you can expect 4-5 hours of playtime on a single charge. As for the frame time graph, it will be flat and even. You can cap the FPS at 90 and max out the Steam Deck OLED; the battery life may not drop as much, thanks to the node shrink and OLED being more efficient.
TDP Lock: (Optional) You can lock the TDP to 10-12W for efficiency. The 60FPS/90FPS cap and this TDP lock may increase playtime, but this depends on your Steam Deck’s maximum battery capacity and other factors, such as wear and tear.
