Hollow Knight Silksong: Cogwork Core Puzzle Solution

The Cogwork Core puzzle in Hollow Knight Silksong isn’t straightforward or easy. Reaching the puzzle can be an even bigger challenge for players since it involves a tough platforming section. However, doing both is crucial if you want to learn the Architect’s Melody, one of the memories in the Threefold Melodies that Hornet has to memorize to reach the endgame. Completing the puzzle isn’t optional.

In the following guide, we’ll help you reach the puzzle in Cogwork Core and then complete it.

Prerequisites To Completing the Cogwork Core Puzzle in Hollow Knight Silksong

Getting to the puzzle requires crossing through some platforming sections. You’ll need to have unlocked certain tools and defeated specific enemies. Here are a few things you need to do before attempting the puzzle:

• Defeat the Cogwork Dancers. After eliminating these two bosses, you will be able to access the left side of the Citadel, from where you can reach the Cogwork Core section.
• Acquire the Clawline ability, which lets Hornet use her Needle as a grappling hook to traverse a wide range of areas.

How To Reach the Cogwork Core Puzzle Location

Enter Cogwork Core and platform to the upper level of this section. Then, follow the steps below to reach the puzzle location.

• Step 1: Use the grapple points to head to the other side of the room.
• Step 2: Next, jump to the middle left platform, while avoiding the flying enemies.
• Step 3: On this platform, attack the running enemy and push it off the edge. Defeat the steaming enemy too before continuing left.
• Step 4: Jump and then dash to the left side wall next. Proceed upwards from here.
• Step 5: Once at the top of the wall, jump and grapple before heading to the right. Carefully maneuver over the spikes and grapple onto the next point.
• Step 6: Jump on the wall and start climbing while avoiding the spikes that protrude, and then retreat back inside the wall continuously.
• Step 7: At the top of the wall, jump and grapple to the left. Go all the way to the left on this grapple point before letting go and gliding a few feet down until you can connect to the next grappling ring.
• Step 8: Quickly hop onto the nearby platform and avoid the spiked enemy here. Then jump to the right and reach the higher platform.
• Step 9: Fight off a steam enemy first. After that, use pogo attacks to deal with the shielded enemy here. This is a great opportunity to grab some Silk for healing.
• Step 10: Jump up the wall on the right and then grapple to the left. Let go of it and jump over the spikes before grappling onto the same ring on the other side of the spike.
• Step 11: Use wall jumps to climb higher in this next section. Beware of the spikes along each wall.
• Step 12: When you reach the top of this wall, glide down and grapple to the ring when you see it.
• Step 13: Next, glide right and then immediately turn left to cling to the wall here. Climb up this wall.
• Step 14: You will see two rotating spikes on your right. Time your jump correctly to pogo off them and reach the right side wall.
• Step 15: Jump from the top of this wall and grapple twice in quick succession to reach the spikes in the middle.
• Step 16: Pogo off this spike and glide to the other side. Use the Clawline for one last grapple to conclude the platforming section and arrive at the puzzle location.

How To Solve the Cogwork Core Puzzle in Hollow Knight Silksong

Now that you’re at the very top of Cogwork Core, you can begin solving the puzzle. You need to align the musical notes etched on each pillar to ensure that there are no broken lines. Rotate the notes by hitting the lever beside each section of the pillars. The following are the solutions for each pillar in the puzzle.
