The Unravelled is another boss in Hollow Knight Silksong, and this guide will go over every move it can throw at you.
The Unravelled is one of the many bosses you can take on in Hollow Knight Silksong. Anything in this sequel can be defeated, especially with enough patience and persistence; however, this one boss may pose a challenge to the uninitiated. This is a secret boss that will reward you with a Silk Heart, which is a fitting reward for your efforts.

Where To Find the Unravelled Boss in Hollow Knight Silksong?
Unlike other bosses, you will need the Surgeon’s Key to reach the Unravelled’s arena. You can find the key on the upper right side of Whiteward, which is the room directly above the boss arena. Once you have the key, you can proceed and face the boss.
It is worth noting that this boss is accessible in the second act of the story. While it may not be that difficult to take down, we recommend that you make preparations before heading in.
The Unravelled Boss Overview
As you hop down to the arena, you will get an eerie vibe where you will be attacked by smaller enemies first. After a few attacks, the ground will shake, and the Unravelled will reveal itself with a few charge attacks. This boss is no different from other bosses, like Father of the Flame, where you must learn the attack patterns.
Phase 1
- Charge Attacks: This move is straightforward and easy to evade. The boss will appear on either side and charge in the opposite direction. Counter this by hopping over and slashing its backside whenever you can. If you jump too late, you will be caught by the attack. We recommend jumping over the middle part of the battlefield to have some breathing room.
- Spit Balls: After you deal enough damage, the Unravelled will start firing projectiles from its mouth. It can be tricky to dodge, especially if you can’t nail down the pattern or direction.
Phase 2
- Upward Spears: Instead of attacking directly, the Unravelled will launch spears from the ground. Never stand in one place and always move left to right. You can see when a spear is about to pop out of the ground.
- More Spit Balls: This is the same move as earlier, but with an extra ball for good measure. The extra projectile will make it tougher for you to evade, but the same strategy can be applied by moving constantly.
Additional Tips and Tricks
After you deal enough damage, the Unravelled will throw everything it has at you. Expect to see moves from both phases mixed randomly as you slash away. You can use the Conchutter to throw against walls, and it will bounce around and likely hit the Unravelled.
Once it is defeated, you will receive a Silk Heart. This is an item that can be used to refill all the Silk you used in battle.
