Players can upgrade Hornet, the game’s main protagonist, with tools and equipment, one of which is the Drifter’s Cloak. The cloak helps you stay afloat in the air as well as use the air vents.

The Drifter’s Cloak can be acquired early in the game, making traveling across the world of Silksong easier.

The Drifter’s Cloak of Hollow Knight Silksong can be found in the Far Fields, located on the right side of the world map. You can obtain it by completing the Seamstress’ questline. To reach the Far Fields, to travel through the Deep Docks, and keep to your right. In the bottom-right corner of the map, you’ll find the Seamstress in a balloon home. You will have to defeat Lace to access the Far Fields and progress some more.

The bug gives you a quest to obtain 25 Spine Cores from the Hoker mob, which looks like it has spines ready to launch when you attack it. You must attack the spines nailed to the ground to drop the Spine Core. A good farming path is to simply take down the two Hokers to the right of the Seamstress’ home, and then reload the area once you collect the spines.

Bringing the Spines back will help the Seamstress create the Drifter’s Cloak. Before you leave, she also drops a story update on the journey towards the Citadel. Somehow, her design and the place where she stays are very similar to Hollow Knight’s Grimm DLC and its main faction, The Grimm Troupe.

How To Use the Drifter’s Cloak

The Drifter’s Cloak helps you stay afloat using the Z key on your keyboard or the A/X button on the Xbox and PS Controllers. It also lets you fly through the air vents in the far fields. This equipment is necessary for game progression and also helps unlock shortcuts throughout the world of Pharloom.

Hollow Knight Silksong has harder platforming than its prequel and has been generally hard on players since the beginning of the game. You can reduce that difficulty by acquiring the Drifter’s Cloak to stay afloat in boss fights and traverse the areas in a better way
