The Sylphsong ability in Hollow Knight Silksong is perhaps one of the most difficult skills to unlock. It requires you to bind Eva, and binding her has its own set of prerequisites. Most players will be able to unlock this ability only in Act 3, but the effect that the Sylphsong ability has is a complete gamechanger. So, you would not want to miss out on this one, even though you need to go down a long road. In the following guide, we will explore how you can grab the ability and how you can use it.
How To Get Sylphsong Ability in Hollow Knight Silksong
To get Sylphsong, you’ll first need to find and speak with Eva. You’ll find this NPC in the lower east corner section of Weavenest Atla region. Spawn at the bench located on the lowest level of Weavenest Atla. From there, head east. Break through a few walls and proceed downward to finally reach the room where Eva is. But simply reaching her will not help. Instead, you will need to complete a few prerequisites before she finally bestows the Sylphsong ability to you.
Collect All Crests
The first requirement is that you’ll need to collect all seven of the crests in the game. The crests and their general locations are:

Collect 20 Memory Lockets
You will next have to collect all 20 Memory Lockets in the game. Use them to upgrade each crest to its full capacity, which will unlock all of the crests’ slots. Once you have done that, you can return to Eva. She will further upgrade all of your crests to unlock more slots for colored abilities. You can use these new slots to equip more of the different colored tools you find throughout the game. The process is crucial if you want Hornet to have a powerful build.
Bind Eva
After all of the crest updates from Eva are complete, speak to her once more. This time, you will be able to bind her. In doing so, you will unlock the Sylphsong ability.
How To Use the Sylphsong Ability in Hollow Knight Silksong
With the Sylphsong ability, Hornet will be able to recover her Silk reserves whenever she rests at a bench. If your Silk reserves are empty and you rest at any of the benches in the game, you will wake up with a completely refilled Silk bar. You can use this ability to rely more frequently on your Silk skills and bind Hornet whenever she is in dire need of healing. You will not have to think twice before every enemy encounter because you can recover all of your Silk by visiting the closest bench.
