Sands of Karak in Hollow Knight Silksong isn’t an area that’s accessible right from the beginning. Instead, if you want to reach this region, you’ll have to unlock a variety of skills. Even after those skills become available, you might be left scratching your head about how to get there.
Without prior knowledge, it might take you quite a while to understand how to enter this area. Thankfully, this guide will help you with the directions so that you can easily get to the Sands of Karak portion of the game.
Prerequisites for Reaching Sands of Karak in Hollow Knight Silksong
You will only be able to make the journey to this region, when you have the following skills/abilities unlocked.
All of these are traversal skills that help Hornet get to different inaccessible points. For instance, Clawline lets her grapple with certain spots using hooks or enemies. The Cling Grip ability lets her wall jump and scale up certain walls. Lastly, the Drifter’s Cloak is essential if you want to glide down from heights without Hornet dying in the process.
How To Reach the Sands of Karak in Hollow Knight Silksong
Simply follow the steps mentioned below to reach this region.
- Step 1: Reach the Blasted Steps rest bench. The Sands of Karak area is in the southern part of the Mount Fay area.
- Step 2: From the rest bench, take a right and drop down into the pit using the Drifter’s Cloak.
- Step 3: Hug the left wall and land on a ledge that leads further west.
- Step 4: While going west, Hornet’s vision will become obscured thanks to dust storms. Use your Clawline ability here to proceed left using the multiple hooks floating around.
- Step 5: You’ll reach a rock wall, where you have to use the wall jump ability to climb higher and turn around to land on a ledge.
- Step 6: Now, jump up on the ledge and use Cling Grip to jump between two walls facing each other to get even higher.
- Step 7: Finally, after some more Clawline and wall jump use, you’ll be able to climb to the next area.
- Step 8: Now, the climb will get trickier since you’ll need to avoid spikes while wall jumping up. Also, take care of any enemies you find here.
- Step 9: Finally, you’ll get to a ledge, from where you need to proceed to the right. This path leads to the Sands of Karak map.
